    Important thing to note:
    If you buy a Put option for a stock let's say Facebook for $250 @ Premium of $4, you have to multiply $4 by each share. 1 option contract is generally 100 shares, so it would be $400 to buy the Put option

  • @EvanEvansE3
    @EvanEvansE3 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    QUESTION: You said you don't convert it to a credit BULL PUT SPREAD until it drops below the lower pivot in daily price action, essentially putting your credit naked put at risk, is that right? Or do you create the put spread the moment you open the position on the stock? That wasn't totally clear in the video. Thank you!

    Hi Adam. I just looked up SE (which is on your list in the video) and EMAs are set up PERFECTLY such as what you specify. It's trending up nicely and has been for a long time. However, there is no defined support level. Do you still make the trade or does the stock also have to have a defined support level in order to make the trade? Also, do all of the EMAs have to be in parallel with each other consistently (for an extended period of time) to be considered a viable trade candidate? For example, I just looked up CRM and in December the 20 EMA pierced DOWN through both the 50 and 100 EMAs but on Feb 8 the 20 EMA retraced back above both the 100 and 50 EMAs. Good video. Interesting strategy. I plan to test it once I find a viable candidate that meets the criteria.

    Hi adam thanks for sharing your knolage.
    I have selling vertical spreads for 2 month now and there were 2 times that the price after the options were expired were lower then sell put and higher than buy put therefore the platform bought the stocks .in this
    case the price was 100$ * 100 stocks so I had to pay 10,000$ for the stock. the risk than is high if you have small account. so it still very risky

    Be careful of the statement that Delta is the chance of the option ending in the money. Delta explains the amount of movement (rate of change) that the option price has currently vs movement in the underlying. Gamma is the rate of change of Delta (the derivative of Delta, the acceleration of Delta)
    There is the Black-Scholes option pricing model which gives a better estimate of likelihood of the option ending in the money or not - also "Implied Volatility" is useful because it tell you options buyers/sellers current estimate of the future volatility. All else equal you would be selling options when the implied volatility based on these prices seems unusually high, and you'd be buying options when IV seems low.

    On Dec 2nd, it came close to $215, yeah even quality stock could move that much. Currently the stock finds support at around 220, and attempted to breakthrough MA120 once.
    I suggest learners plan ahead before diving in e.g. write down strategies or SOP on how to handle unexpected scenarios before trying, because the worst thing to do is to panic when things go against you, and panics leads to costly tuition fees... and only use money you can afford to loose.

    Hi Adam. I have a couple questions about this video:
    1) How do you determine what 1R represents - it's unclear to me how you calculate that number
    2) You mentioned that when ADSK expires you'll have collected about $1,500 in premium. If I'm reading it right you sold 30 (the number '30' in the POS column adjacent to 'Unrealized P&L' ) Options contracts in order to arrive at that premium - is that correct? If so, nice return, but there's no way I could buy anything close to that number of contracts at this time. Perhaps if/when I have several hundred thousands of dollars to play with (I wish).

    I have a quick question! When trying to figure out the Delta for the spread, do you pick the delta of the current market share THAT DAY and use that same number 33 days out? or whatever the delta is for the share 33 days out

    • @johnr2469
      @johnr2469 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thinkorswim platform can show you Delta value of the options. When you select that time frame, he used 20-30 days out, it lists the Delta value currently for those options. That's what you use. His example at 27:54 he is looking at Delta values for put options expiring in 33 days, values at -10 which roughly means there's only a 10% chance of the stock price ending up at that level on that date.

    Hey Adam, just want to say I very much appreciate everything you do to help traders learn. I’m considering some of your classes
    I very much like cash flow options trading and this video is what really motivated me to start doing it. I’m curious what percentage of your portfolios do you dedicate to cash flow plays vs directional options trades (buying naked options or spreads) vs leaps, vs regular stocks.
    I blew up my account a lot last year learning options and am using cash flow to rebuild it. I feel often when I do directional plays, I lose. The cash flow has been working for me. Should I just stick to what works for me and mostly do cash flow plays and then once my account is rebuilt, how much should I try to attribute of it toward the other types of trades? I know each person is different but any kind of guideline to diversification would help and be appreciated. Thanks!

    Can you please explain how does one open the pair of bull spread put options at the same time exactly to make sure they are aligned. Can this strategy be used on Robinhood platform. Conversely, how does one close the pair of options simultaneously. OR does one leave the pair open till expiration if there is no breach, and then collect the full net premium. Will this strategy be profitable if one buys weekly contracts every week?
