  • We found two WW2 2 German helmets Metal detecting WW2
    Everything started a a usual day on the nearby mountains, we were just exploring an area where the German Mountain troops camped for weeks during their advance in World War 2.
    We found out that they had tents placed in the area but also individual trenches scattered between tents. Also something very interesting was the fact that they installed land mines in the area the German S-mines that served as anti personal mines.
    Now after more than 70 years from World War 2 you can barely see the trenches and we know for sure that were deep enough for a soldier to stand in it, so we decided to dig deeper in one of the trenches. So after removing about 10 cm of soil out metal detector was picking
    a really high signal and we were pretty sure that something big is down there, we were right because after another 30 cm of soil we started to see the edge of not one but two German helmets at the bottom of the trench.
    But before taking the helmets out we found some other very cool finds like a German canteen cup, some kind of alarm system, a tiny round mirror and a German flare.
    When we reached the helmets we found out that one was placed upside down and the water was trapped inside and over time made a few holes in it (well the rust got the job done) but still nice finds. The other helmet was in a better shape,
    and with the side marks still on it, well barely visible but still awesome. After we thought that we dug up everything in that trench we got surprised by finding two more relics, a German military shovel and a shot glass near the helmets.
    After examining one of the helmets we discovered that the leather inside was broken at that time and the soldier tried to make it comfortable by replacing the missing leather piece with stacked pieces of paper, we were able to read some text on the papers, most likely was
    a newspaper from that time.
    For me was a great day and I won't forget it soon, I hope you'll enjoy it as well and I'm sorry for the shaky image and poor sound quality but back then we were still learning about this and didn't had an audio recorder, but despite that it is still worth watching.
    Enjoy!

    WOW, this is soooo cool!!!
    I can feel the excitement... it's such a great feeling!
    You know you just found something good.. and then you discover there is more!
    Probably equipment from killed German soldiers, or maybe they were taken as prisoners.
    It's also possible that the soldiers retreated, and this was left behind and later dumped in a hole..
    1 thing for sure... JACKPOT!
    Great video with awesome finds!
    Thanks for sharing, and good luck on the next hunt! :-D
    Gr Nick

      Yup you are right, over there it was no fight, they just camped and probably left all the stuff behind. All the trenches nearby seemed to be quite empty and I think we found the "needle in the haystack" or as you said Jackpot :D Thank you so much for the nice words and I can't wait to see your next trip into the history.

      Thank you so much, I can tell you that my brother was the most excited one over there and he really tried the shot glass, not to forget that we found a second one (well... broken, but still there). Two comrades shared a bottle of spirit in that trench for sure. Also can't figure out what they were doing with that alarm, bell....

      Metal detecting WW2/WW1 RELICS- I would be exited too! I live in the US and I don't get to experience WW2 history like this. Luckily my friend in Latvia sends me some of his finds, so I can enjoy the history too. I hope one day I can join my friend in Latvia for some relic hunting. I look forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you for preserving the history of WW2!

    hiiii,
    *Looks like you've found a very rare great place(i``m still wondering if you have maximum skill in archeology in wow:)) ), I can not figure out what's more important than what you've found, but they're all great, i watched this video with emotions, just like you when you found them on the ground:D.*
    Did you use that little bottle? :d

      @DetectiemetalMetaldetecting  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Omg yeah, my skill is maxed out :D since day 1. My brother gave it a try with our traditional drink "Tuica de prune" :) and I forgot to mention but there was a second Shot glass in the trench, well broken but that means that 2 WW2 buddies had a drink over there and being too wasted they forgot their stuff. I can't find other explanation for leaving behind good stuff. Take care of yourself my friend and see you soon!

    What signal did the helmets have? :)

    • @DetectiemetalMetaldetecting
      @DetectiemetalMetaldetecting  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's weird, because of the round shape and the depth it was a high pitch signal on my AT PRO around 80.
