In this video, the Cubs' Aroldis Chapman walks the Los Angeles Dodgers' Carlos Ruiz, but then induces Yasiel Puig to ground into a Dodger-season-ending double play, Addison Russell to Javier Baez to Anthony Rizzo, and the Cubs rush onto the field to celebrate.
Kyle Hendricks gave up a hit on his first pitch, a hit on his last pitch, and had no-hit stuff for seven innings in between. Jon Lester and Baez were named co-MVPs of the National League Championship Series.
Theo Epstein laid down the plans for this moment in 2012, culminating in the hire of Joe Maddon before the 2015 season and the bringing together of a young, strong, talented, dedicated and focused group of guys with the goal of bringing the pennant home to the north side of Chicago.
