I worked in Montauk way back in 2000. That hotel is now sold, has a new name/new owners and is a world away from the place I was in. Montauk seems to have changed beyond recognition. I would really like to go back as a visitor rather than being a curious kid on work experience who worked in a hotel which needed major renovation work! From what I hear, it looks great now. I love the over head shot at the end. I never realised how big the houses were at the time. They're massive!
Yeah, it's no longer that sleepy little shore town, it's very popular and developed. Still a great place to visit. We were just up in Maine and that sleepy little sea shore town vibe still lives on up there.
@@DOUGandNIKI Thanks for reply. I'm now 42 years old. Whenever I am having a dull day, I think back to the days when I was a fresh faced 22 year old University graduate working in Montauk and then travelling the entire of USA (I'm from England). Those were the most harmless, innocent, and fun days of my life! I hadn't a dime outside my travel money, but I had fun and met amazing interesting people along the way that no amount of money could ever buy!
Love your video, this was a great introduction of Montauk , now if I visit I know what to expect, specially with the cost of the food, nice job on the video, made me hungry have to run out for some lobster.
That was a whole different town back in the 90s and early 2000s. And they never went to ditch planes the best surf spot out there or the ice cream shop neat the giant tiki head statue
Well made video, great shots, lobster roll hella expensive. My tastes run more toward fried clam strips, shrimp, crab meat, or mussels. Lookibg forward to seeing your other videos.
DOUG and NIKI @ I live in Long Island, NY .... Montauk is 1 and half hour far from where I live. I have been there on 4th of July weekend and it was just awesome 😎! :)
Hi Doug and Niki! My name is Jen and I work for a company called STALKR; we license clips for commercials. I'd to see if you'd be interested in licensing a clip from this -we've been on the lookout for great New York moment clips! We're showing clips to our client (a Health Care Provider) this week, and I'd love to include yours! Please email me at jenvanhorn@stalkr.com if you're interested and I can send you more info about the project, licensing fee we'd pay you if it's selected, etc. Thanks, have a great day! -Jen

Are there life guard on the beach???
The public beach? Yes during normal hours. We shot this in the early evening. The rocky beaches below the cliffs, I believe you are on your own.
@@DOUGandNIKI thank you guys 😊
