Very happy to see Saurabh Sir's argument and logic about migrants' responsibility of learning the local language. When the guy said the city is cosmopolitan and they don't find it necessary to learn kannada as even local don't burden them. So, we are also responsible and most of urban Kannadigas in good position are not bothered about forcing their north Indian friends to learn kannada. When the guys said he finds it tough as it's like tongue twister to learn Kannada. @saurabh sir said didn't you find it hard initially when studying aerospace engineering? That's funnily good argument but it's not also. Our north Indian friends don't get proper resources and also as locals too cooperate with Hindi they don't find it necessary to learn it. But as the wind is changing, I suggest all of them to start learning little bit and get well in about 2-3 years. Because opposing Hindi has been becoming a thing now.

I have lived in both Bangalore and Chennai the difference is in Bangalore you don't feel intimidated but in Chennai sometimes I felt intimidated not being a Tamil or not knowing Tamil.
Learning Tamil is not necessary in Chennai, but it is recommended because then only you will get the real feel of Tamil culture. Not learning Hindi would make you survive in Delhi, but you'll never mix with the local people who predominantly speak Hindi there and never actually get the glimpse of living there. Its the same here in Chennai.

I'm impressed by the amount of research these guys have done. Especially Saurabh sir. We don't care much about lingayata and Vokkaliga issue as it's already over. Some might take that into consideration but most not. And the way these guys found out Karnataka has very friendly politicians regardless of parties and are accessible is very interesting. Media like Lallantop are responsible for educating north Indians about Karnataka or southern India. We are very welcoming and they find it easy here. I'd also like to see the India today and lallantop to cover all major elections of all of southern Indian states. They'll be surpsided by ideologies of people of Kerala and their education level. How will that solve your problem. Kerala cannot understand, Telugu and Kannada, AP / T cannot understand Tamil and Malayalam and Tamilnadu will pretended not to understand anything apart from Tamil. In Karnataka you can manage with Telugu, Tamil in most places. The only solution is South Indians to learn Hindi.

I have lived in both Bangalore and Chennai the difference is in Bangalore you don't feel intimidated but in Chennai sometimes I felt intimidated not being a Tamil or not knowing Tamil.
Learning Tamil is not necessary in Chennai, but it is recommended because then only you will get the real feel of Tamil culture. Not learning Hindi would make you survive in Delhi, but you'll never mix with the local people who predominantly speak Hindi there and never actually get the glimpse of living there. Its the same here in Chennai.

We don't care much about lingayata and Vokkaliga issue as it's already over. Some might take that into consideration but most not.
And the way these guys found out Karnataka has very friendly politicians regardless of parties and are accessible is very interesting.
Media like Lallantop are responsible for educating north Indians about Karnataka or southern India. We are very welcoming and they find it easy here. I'd also like to see the India today and lallantop to cover all major elections of all of southern Indian states. They'll be surpsided by ideologies of people of Kerala and their education level. They'll be amazed to see Tamil sentiments and they'll be amused by craze of politics in Telugu states especially AP.

I am kannadiga settled mahatashtra, I made it a point to learn marathi within one year. We kannadigas mingle with the locals but the north Indians have that snobbery, they dont learn the local language. 1:05:10

That person hailing from Bihar reflects typical mentality of most in Bangalore. Blame it on the system, never our mistake ... Noone motivated them to learn local language, no channel good enough to make him understand local politics cause it's not in the language he can follow, localites make them comfortable by talking their language of comfort.

How will that solve your problem. Kerala cannot understand, Telugu and Kannada, AP / T cannot understand Tamil and Malayalam and Tamilnadu will pretended not to understand anything apart from Tamil. In Karnataka you can manage with Telugu, Tamil in most places. The only solution is South Indians to learn Hindi.

@@oshizone To be fair and appear fair too North Indians should learn anyone South Indian language and then even Tamil Nadu will then be willing to have Hindi as a third language. It is the attitude of North Indians and especially with regards Hindi- pushy , unnecessarily aggressive and supercilious refusing to learn the local language even if working for years in say a Bangalore or a Chennai- that gets under the skin.
