    Original artists from the '60s, '70s and '80s inspired generations of later music recorders. Joni had to tune her guitar because she invented a lot of original tunings.
    For me "For the Roses" is her best album, every song is great and some are heartbreaking such as the closing song about Beethoven who went deaf 'Judgement of the Moon and Stars (Ludwig's Tune)'. Imagine being a music composer and losing your hearing; Joni imagined it and wrote it down. 'Lesson in Survival/Let the Wind Carry Me' hurt my heart. 'Electricity' is a fun one though and the single 'You Turn Me On, I'm a Radio'.

    • @theolamp5312
      @theolamp5312 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Yog-Sothoth - True. If you want to learn how to play Joni's songs on guitar, you best be prepared to retune your guitar to several different tunings. But I doubt you will still be able to duplicate her voice.

Not the hate watching fed me by algorithms. I wondered why I prefer reactions to the videos themselves and I realised that I really needed to share music with freinds like when I was young. Joni Mitchell is one of the famous "West Coast" music explosion artists. Future famous artists gathered around a place
    called Haight/Ashbury, and many of them lived in Laurel Canyon, California. There was Crosby/Stills/Nash, Jackson Browne,
    The Byrds, The Mama's and the Papa's, Jefferson Airplane, Joni Mitchell, and others. Graham Nash and Joni had a 2 year
    romance and lived together. David Crosby said that Joni Mitchell was the greatest songwriter he had ever heard. Crosby
    produced her first Album.

    She wrote this song regarding something that happened on the island of Oahu. In the middle of the city now is an enclosed area filled with the most amazing tropical trees and flowers. Some of the tallest and largest trees I've ever seen. It is surrounded by a wall and you must pay to see these trees that are now very uncommon on the island of Oahu. If you go to Hawaii, you must see this garden of beautiful trees and tropical flora and fauna. On the wall of the old office you will find an article, now yellowed with age, about this song and why Joni Mitchell wrote it.

    You may enjoy watching this other reaction video of this same song because a lot of the musical technical aspects are explained by him. As well as about how she came to write the song, and what very possibly what the meaning behind the Big Yellow Taxi was. And then she also did a second song in the performance within this video of Both Sides Now. Thank you for what you do, God bless, and here is the title of that video which is on YT > British guitarist analyses Joni Mitchell's ENGAGING one woman show in 1969! < Oh and the studio version of Big Yellow Taxi is really great - with all additional instrumentation and the added back up vocal part.
