diy Japanese Style chamfer plane P1

I have always wanted to have a Japanese style Chamfer Plane but did not want to spend almost $200 for it. I decided to build one myself. It's a lot more fun this way. To start, I build a prototype to figure out problems I might encounter. The blade came from an old chisel that have fallen out of favor. I did not have a lot of hardwood so I just used the pine wood that I have. I reinforced the bottom with a piece of red oak which should give it a longer useful life.
