I fucking love how they all stayed inside for the review, and didn't pressure him. Not like the other owners who stand next to him waiting for a sympathy score.
How do you know the others aren't in a similarly tough situation? What if THIS is just a larger more complex sympathy ploy?

Well, just passed by Calabrias and saw a ginormous line stretching around the restaurant. Definitely more than I’ve ever seen from the business, so I’m going to assume this is Prez’s doing- good job man!

Went to Calabria this past Sunday and definitely one of the best experiences we’ve had. The pizza was fantastic but the staff were extraordinary. They made us feel like family. I’m glad they were able to make it through the Pandemic and are thriving. That place was busy on a Sunday afternoon! Best of luck to them!

@@JediWebSurf Integrity is the only value by which his scores matter. Honesty is not animosity, and if the quality isn't there then they're likely in the wrong business to start with. A fake review score would only be a bandaid on a bad product, so why even go there? The end result is failure regardless.

The food at Calabria is absolutely amazing! They never cut corners with the quality of ingredients they use and they take great pride in their product. But what’s even more special about this place is how the owners/staff treat EVERY customer like family. It’s no surprise to me that they’ve been in business 40+ years and it’s no surprise that they received such a high rating on this review from Dave Portnoy. If you’re ever near Livingston, NJ you have to stop in at Calabria and ask for my friend Giuseppe!
Dude you're not lying. I am in town for work and stopped by. Called in a to go order, got there at 8 at closing and asked if I could eat there instead. Even though they were cleaning up they were so cool about it, poured me a glass of wine, asked me where I was from, then over the course of 20min I'd say 3 different employees walked by and asked me how my pizza was. Such a good vibe, you can tell people like working there and the pizza was fantastic.
Wow… I just ordered some from Goldbelly. I am really excited to try it!! I haven’t eaten a thin crust pizza outside of Pizza Hut. I ordered 4 so it could last me a bit, but I may cheat it since people are giving it such high praise. 😂 Oh well, it’s thin so has less calories…

As a restaurant owner I appreciate what Dave does for my community during this tough time. I know what we do is not saving life, we just sell foods so it’s nice to have someone care enough to do what he does.

My grandfather passed away and we had a luncheon in the back room of this restaurant. I could not believe it when I saw the sign outside the restaurant of Dave and their pizza being an 8.9. Thank you for what you do for small businesses. And fuck the Dragon Pizza owner who ridiculed you.

They brought to my attention my love for plain cheese pizza (the good medal 🏅🏅🏅 slice) & now I’m getting ready to start my own pizzeria and it’s really all because of these reviews🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕 He’s just a pizza man, rating cheese pizza and saving people’s lives along the way.

It is nuts how excited the real pizza places/family’s get for Dave and or a high score from him.
Ironically, I was at Calabria a few months before Dave went there. I loved it and rated it at 9.1 myself. That was 2 years ago today. Unknowingly, I am eating a pie from Calabria as I type this 2 years to the day.
Do u see the struggle families across this country is going thru and for someone with a heart of Gold like him comes around, give these folks hope to keep on grinding... well done and thx for taking the time out for doing this for them man. Ur a real G....

they were talking about the Covid relief foundation that Dave set up with Barstool Sports, to raise both money and awareness of struggling local small businesses.
the funds were used to give relief loans, the awareness campaign was to encourage people to get takeouts/keep visiting local independent restaurants. it reportedly saved loads of small businesses during lockdown, restaurants in particular.
so it was more than just the review (tho ofc that & the score helped a lot).
All the talking heads and people who do nothing but criticize Dave and barstool, should take a look at this video. Look what the “racist, sexist, third world dictator” did, helped saved over a hundred small business that make this country great. Prez is a national treasure!

I went here today for lunch, I work about 20 minutes away and never knew they existed. I got a thin crust pizza with sausage and 12 chicken tenders. Tenders were freshly made. I ate a tender and 2 slices on my ride back to office. Both were delicious, just finished my 5th slice. Great people and very thankful that I stopped in. If you are in the area of Livingston, give them a try. 👍👌🍕
Gotta love a company full of family that wears their heart on their sleeve. Wish they weren't across the country or I'd go there twice a week. Hang in there Calabria, this country needs more businesses like you.

How could the 1,000th pizza review be any better?!? We got Rovell Slander, a small business impacted by Covid, the pizza almost breaking the 9 barrier, and a workforce of proud Stoolies. 10/10 pizza review
The pizza wasn't a plain cheese it was a 1-topping with confetti, everybody knows the rules.
Best part of this story is that not everyone knows how this family business has offered help feed those who have lost their jobs and need to feed their family... no questions asked... in spite of how they have been affected themselves... and now all that goodwill has come back to them. Awesome! Thanks Prez for helping to make it happen!

Every time I transport pizza in my car, the smell reminds me of when I delivered pizza and waited tables here.
No GPS, just maps on the wall by the phone that rang non-stop on the weekends. On a busy Saturday night you could deliver non-stop until 10/11pm. Great memories.
When you worked there, you were treated like family. Watching 2 Italian brothers (immigrants) who initially couldn’t speak a lick of English, go from painting buildings, to working their butts off in a pizzaria, to finally opening one of their own and growing that business. The true American dream.
This made national news on how this review literally saved the business and they were able to catch up on their bills.
Amazing. Simply amazing.
I’m so happy that this kind of thing is happening in the world and proud I share a tiny piece of this place’s history.

Seeing this unfold and the impact dave is having on people same businesses.. its really moving. I know it's just pizza and I'm not sure where the money goes if it's just pizza businesses or small buisness but regardless dave is helping struggling americans out in a big way. To me that's a hero and I think him and or barstool deserves to be recognized by the government publically.

We take these vids at an entertainment value, maybe get an idea of a good pie spot in our areas, but seeing the reaction and appreciation that they have, the impact he has, it just hits you right in the feeler's. 🍻
