I think that asian “tints” don’t translate to what American “tints” are which is why you didn’t like most of them. Asian tints are more of matte liquid lipstick and not very light or sheer. Also, none of the tints lasted bc you threw on lip balm on them. Lol we all know you love a good shiny lip gloss which is how I got the feeling this experiment wasn’t going to go well for u. 😂 Thanks for trying. ❤
Just a note, specially korean lip tint in a velvet form are formulated to not stain. A lot of "stains" are tints, what's means its applies color in a natural way, without been too heavy. I really hope this can allow you why didnt you a like a lot of korean "stains"❤
Ohhh totally makes sense on why they call them tints! When I was looking up stains, the tints in this video all populated because they also claim to stain / last all day though 😊
@AbbeyYung seeing your video I sugest you try the wakemake dewy gel glow tint and lilybyred bloody liar coating tint. For me are superior yo peripera ink mood glowy tint. They do not leave a stain, but are a super glowy gelified tints, same or more glowy than this and lot off less stickier and more pigmented. Hope you give it a try
I feel like for people looking for a stain, non-patchy longwear should be the first or second most important characteristic along with comfort... I'm surprised anyone would specifically look for a stain and not care about staying power? *I understand not caring about staying power, but then why look for a "stain" in the first place.
They all have longer staying power than a regular lipstick or gloss. But once I got into weeks of filming this footage & realized that most of them don't last all day long, I started caring less about that! I have no issue reapplying after a few hours. I personally love stains because they look more natural than full pigment lipsticks and last longer than lipsticks or glosses alone

Some of the Korean brands products you used are not actually made as lip “stain” products. Also most of Korean lip products that has shiny/gloss finish, you are NOT supposed to rub your lips against each other or with your finger after applying for the best result(shine).
All of these populated when searching for stains because they make claims to last all day or stain. But totally get that the effect is different with some traditional stains vs tints! And I was rubbing them to see what the color looked like after being blotted xx

You have no idea how long I've been researching and trying to figure out what lip stains to get. They always lean VERY pink for me, and I hate it for me. I want more neutral, brown/tan colors or a rich, deep blood/berry. But often those advertised as such still lean pinky. This video is seriously a godsend!

I LOVE the Peripera ink mood glowy tints!! They were my second ever lip tints (the first one was their drop tints) and I was hooked ever since. 💗 I'm so glad Peripera is top 2 for you because they're the only lip tints I have in this video. I check MANY lip tint ranking videos, bets lip tint videos, JUST to check where the Peripera glowy tints rank for other people. I am happy to see that the glowy tints NEVER LOSE.

have you tried the covergirl outlast lip marker stains? I heard Kelly Gooch talk about them in a recent drugstore makeup video and how she wears them in tandem with the milani color fetish lip stain.
It's nice to see Westerners trying Asian products... But the big issue in this video is applying them all the same way regardless of the differences in finishes and then blotting and applying gloss over the top. Saying they don't work, when they haven't been used as recommended by the company, is not the best test of their quality 🥲
Holika holika has my fave stain, the balm stainiacs can be applied without a mirror, they are so easy & light, & mansly is a very low budget but fantastic brand for me so far - loving lip mud stains!

Would love a video on pregnancy-safe or breast-feeding safe hair, skin, and makeup products. I am 5 months pregnant and had to stop Tretinoin and chemical sunscreens. Would love to see your compiled recommendations for those types of products as some many have to use these for 1-2+ years while pregnant or breastfeeding.
The huda beauty one is my favorite! I loved the various etude house and romand tints, but the huda beauty one is a lot more long wearing and feels so natural on my lips. I love the rosy kiss color too. I love your review videos! I tend to look great in the same colors as you do, so I adore your recommendations!
As someone who is highly sensitive to fragrance in products I so appreciate that you added that detail to every review in this video. Video idea/ request! A cool toned nude lip video 😭 I just cannot for the life of me find a cool toned nude lipstick on the UK high street (think mid tone nude with a lilacy undertone). Everything has warmer pinky or orange undertones and they just don’t look great on me 😭
I have to ask.... I bought two Elf Glossy Lip Stains and both were super dry and felt almost empty from the moment I purchased it. Package was sealed so I know it wasn't opened at the store or anything. Should I repurchase? Mine never felt very wet and the payoff was meh... must be horrible luck to have that happen to two shades purchased at two separate occasions months apart... right?
Im not a huge fan of tints and just have the rare beauty one and the fenty one. I hate the rare beauty one, it is so dry and does not last. The fenty is ok, just too watery for me and too difficult to apply properly so I never use it. I think I might try Korean ones instead as the western ones suck or are overpriced
I usually love all of your videos, but I feel like this video didn’t really show a fair comparison with all of the stains since you aren’t well versed in the different types of Korean lip tints and how to use them best/ how they work so pretty much all of them got ranked low.
I wish you would’ve told us how long you were keeping it on your lips before blotting each one. Some lip stains take longer to stain based off the consistency and formula. Also, were you doing wear tests of the lip stains alone or blotted with a gloss with each one? Because most people wear the lip stain color alone all day so I feel like that would’ve been a better testament to it’s wear. Lip gloss ruins the purpose of a stain, but if that’s how you like to wear it then that’s fine but for the purpose of this video it was pretty unhelpful…
It sounded like she was doing them blotted with gloss. I agree it was pretty unhelpful...especially when the showdown was ranked based on longwear being the third most important characteristic. She has her reasons, but I find them weak considering she chose a showdown style video. If most didn't last long, then they fail at being a stain. No point in ranking them one by one.

I believe your lip stains are not lasting as long as you think because you are applying a lip balm on top of it. It acts like a makeup remover especially after being on your lips a long time.
Abbey I think you should try out the non-sticky dazzle tint lip stains from unleashia !! All of the shades are so pretty and for me the are also long wear. My favorite shades are nr.2 Sunbeam and nr.3 Glow Day. If you are doing another lip tint showdown I would LOVE to see them in it. Yeeeesssss! This was the video I was waiting for! I bought milani when you mentioned it because several years ago I bought the benefit lip stain and loved the effect, but hated how dry it made my lips. But lip stain obsession started there. Milani was sooo much better and I expanded from there to Elf and Rare beauty (which I LOVE). Was so excited for more good options but it seems like I got the exact product I wanted out of what I had. Now to expand my shades! Thank you for this video!!
I've had some really great Asian tints (the ones in the wine bottle packaging!), but I've been actually impressed with the ELF ones. I used to use Benetint back in the day. I will say, I exfoliate my lips daily. That helps.
This video was fantastic, I bought 3 different ones & I'm totally happy with them. Couldn't find Clio on Ulta or Sephora, would like to try that brand. Also, you looked great with the Benefit one on!😊

Something to keep in mind is that lighter nude shades will never have the same staining effect as deeper hues! As an eternally dry lips sufferer, I prefer Lanolip’s waxy tinted 101 balm as it grips on and sheers into a lovely peach. Can get 1/2 day wear time, even through lighter meals as the wax repels water :)

I LOVE your videos and how incredibly helpful they are 😍 I want to mention though, I don’t think you use the water tints the way they are supposed to. Referring to the etude/benetint problem. You apply it like a balm, but it’s more like - place drops in the middle of the lip and rub and smack your lips against each other - it will add a translucent layer. It’s not to be applied along the outer lip lines. Same for using it on cheeks. I think that is the ultimate purpose of them, it literally takes two seconds this way to add blush and lip color. You slap it on and rub and done.

OMG how patchy is the second etude stain?? I live for old school original texture thin pigmented lip tint nothing glossy nothing balmy nothing whipped i just want a water tint.
Etude Dear Darling Water Gel Tint is like children lipstick (is there such a thing?). Watery. All these Etude water gel and the tint are a joke. Waste of money.
I cannot believe that u rated benetint greater than peripera velvet tint. U don’t want long lasting stain nor u want creamy or any other texture then what are u looking for? And if u have Sahara dry dessert lips then first of all u should buy good lip gloss and not lip balm which do shift lip tints. I’ve been using peripera since forever and u rated Romand juicy tint higher than that? And u rated no. 1 to peripera ink mood? Then u should and must try peripera lip gloss in clear shade for ur Sahara dessert lips. It last all night untill u get up next morning and run by ur own. It’s that lost lasting gloss and hydration.

The best tint I ever used was Julia's tint. So sad they don't make it anymore. I still have some left, and despite years passed they still have not expired. I hope to make will make it again.
oof i really love the dasique water blur tint and the different series from clio. the texture after applying on the lips is the kind i was looking for, lightweight and naturally matte, easy to get the gradient effect. Peripera ink mood glowy tint was one of my first peripera product & one of the first few lippies i tried, and i didnt like it after trying out other brands or peripera matte airy velvet matte lippies. nevertheless, love your video and the comparisons made
For some reason I just this style of starting right off with the review of a product and then explaining your methodology rather than a long intro explaining methodology first. Just felt punchier and got my attention right away

I wish you would’ve told us how long you were keeping it on your lips before blotting each one. Some lip stains take longer to stain based off the consistency and formula. Also, were you doing wear tests of the lip stains alone or blotted with a gloss with each one? Because most people wear the lip stain color alone all day so I feel like that would’ve been a better testament to it’s wear. Lip gloss ruins the purpose of a stain, but if that’s how you like to wear it then that’s fine but for the purpose of this video it was pretty unhelpful…
It sounded like she was doing them blotted with gloss. I agree it was pretty unhelpful...especially when the showdown was ranked based on longwear being the third most important characteristic. She has her reasons, but I find them weak considering she chose a showdown style video. If most didn't last long, then they fail at being a stain. No point in ranking them one by one.

I believe your lip stains are not lasting as long as you think because you are applying a lip balm on top of it. It acts like a makeup remover especially after being on your lips a long time.
I think it's also because she blots all the full color ones instead of letting them set and applying the lip balm on top of that.
Abbey I think you should try out the non-sticky dazzle tint lip stains from unleashia !! All of the shades are so pretty and for me the are also long wear. My favorite shades are nr.2 Sunbeam and nr.3 Glow Day. If you are doing another lip tint showdown I would LOVE to see them in it. Yeeeesssss! This was the video I was waiting for! I bought milani when you mentioned it because several years ago I bought the benefit lip stain and loved the effect, but hated how dry it made my lips. But lip stain obsession started there.
Milani was sooo much better and I expanded from there to Elf and Rare beauty (which I LOVE). Was so excited for more good options but it seems like I got the exact product I wanted out of what I had. Now to expand my shades! Thank you for this video!!

I've had some really great Asian tints (the ones in the wine bottle packaging!), but I've been actually impressed with the ELF ones. I used to use Benetint back in the day. I will say, I exfoliate my lips daily. That helps.

Something to keep in mind is that lighter nude shades will never have the same staining effect as deeper hues!
As an eternally dry lips sufferer, I prefer Lanolip’s waxy tinted 101 balm as it grips on and sheers into a lovely peach. Can get 1/2 day wear time, even through lighter meals as the wax repels water :)

I want to mention though, I don’t think you use the water tints the way they are supposed to. Referring to the etude/benetint problem. You apply it like a balm, but it’s more like - place drops in the middle of the lip and rub and smack your lips against each other - it will add a translucent layer. It’s not to be applied along the outer lip lines. Same for using it on cheeks. I think that is the ultimate purpose of them, it literally takes two seconds this way to add blush and lip color. You slap it on and rub and done.

I cannot believe that u rated benetint greater than peripera velvet tint. U don’t want long lasting stain nor u want creamy or any other texture then what are u looking for? And if u have Sahara dry dessert lips then first of all u should buy good lip gloss and not lip balm which do shift lip tints. I’ve been using peripera since forever and u rated Romand juicy tint higher than that? And u rated no. 1 to peripera ink mood? Then u should and must try peripera lip gloss in clear shade for ur Sahara dessert lips. It last all night untill u get up next morning and run by ur own. It’s that lost lasting gloss and hydration.
I miss the lip stain that Younique used to carry! They were the best for long wear but needed a balm. Wish they’d bring them back!

The best tint I ever used was Julia's tint. So sad they don't make it anymore. I still have some left, and despite years passed they still have not expired. I hope to make will make it again.

The elf lip stain is awful in my opinion. It’s so patchy and doesn’t last. Very surprised this is placed higher than rare beauty.
oof i really love the dasique water blur tint and the different series from clio. the texture after applying on the lips is the kind i was looking for, lightweight and naturally matte, easy to get the gradient effect. Peripera ink mood glowy tint was one of my first peripera product & one of the first few lippies i tried, and i didnt like it after trying out other brands or peripera matte airy velvet matte lippies.

Ive been trying so hard to find a stain! * That suits my lips. They are small, so i feel like too much color looks weird.
I think the peach collection of airy ink velvets is the only one with the peach smell. But the smell of the regular ones is disgusting too...
For some reason I just this style of starting right off with the review of a product and then explaining your methodology rather than a long intro explaining methodology first. Just felt punchier and got my attention right away
