Mitch Schiller Michael does a few voice cracks in some of Red's songs. I think it's purposeful. Even if it's not, it adds so much uniqueness to the way the song is sung.

I think I can start to understand the meaning behind this song, and it comes to me especially after my girlfriend had told me that she doesn't want any love from anyone, not even me. I gave everyhing for her, and I did everything to show her love, but she just refused to show any love in return. On top of that, she is not a believer in Christ and her home life is far from ideal.

Boomblox5896 I’ve been there before. I did so much for one of my exes, but no matter what I did, it was never enough to bring her out of her horrible environment & mindset. She wasn’t saved either & she did not understand why I was doing all that I was for her. I did it because I loved her & saw the best in her, but she didn’t see what I saw. Sometimes you have to walk away even when you don’t want to. She broke up with me because I wanted something different & good for us. She couldn’t “give” that to me, but I was the one giving to her. Sometimes our best efforts even though they are good, just aren’t meant for some people to understand.
Boomblox I can relate to the first part about what you said with having a girlfriend who never loved you really the way you loved her. My ex told me that all the times she said she loved me it was a lie (she didn't say it out of anger but what seemed by her conviction, truth). Basically felt like she used me for free food and used my family to be the one she wished she had but without showing much love to me. I have to say though looking back I'm glad I'm not marrying her, and for you I think its even better. Dating women who have had bad teaching/reasoning for years can often be really hard to change because their parents/surroundings have drilled their beliefs into them for so long, including Christian girls. Plus, respectfully, you and Elijah (who commented) shouldn't have been dating non-believers in my opinion. Its not your job to save her, its Christ. I personally don't interpret "save you" as salvation on this song. I think he means save you as a synonym for the previous line keep you. I sure hope he doesn't mean salvation as I think that would be theologically incorrect.

Really relevant song to today's culture of trying to hide our imperfections. There's no need to pretend that we have it all together, because we never do. And all we do is just wear ourselves down and alienate ourselves from others who would be able to help, if they could only see behind the mask. How freeing it is to lower our masks and be REAL! God didn't make us to be alone and constantly striving to be perfect...let Him make you the person He created you to be!
Amen. So many of us get lost in hiding behind the things that this foolish world has to offer when in the end it only makes us weaker and pushes us farther apart from those that we truely care for. Christ is the only true way to find peace and be made entirely whole in this dark and empty world. God bless you sister and stay strong in your faith!

I know why this is a deluxe edition track. Gone follows a storyline, one that ends with the loss of the characters in singularity "we are-" this is a continuation of that story dealing with a loved one and the fallout of the character being gone. "is the air I breathe my only legacy?"

They missed the boat on not having this as part of the standard track listing. This is perhaps the best slow song they've put out since Hymn for the missing.
I love love love this slow track! Although, I also really liked the original versions for "Hold Me Now" and "As You Go" from RTP. But this one's fantastic...and so relevant.

Great song for the person trying so hard to please people in order to be loved and accpeted. To then finally letting go and being the person that they were created to be in the sight of God. Not trying to be someone they are not but the real person that is deep need of a savior.

This song always makes me cry
This song not being on the CD is the only reason I have not bought it. My OCD can not handle knowing that this song is completely unavailable to physical media customers. Hopefully they will eventually rerelease the album with this song added so I won't feel like I am being punished for still refusing to feed the digital monster. Too many bands (10 Years, Soen and countless others) have already chased me off buying their CDs by embracing the insanely frustrating practice of giving "perks" to digital customers. Until now, Red had been so good about making the physical deluxe edition available. So for the first time their incomplete physical release has disappointed me.
I was excited for this CD and I was not disappointed. I love every song. 10/10.

The line that goes "I'm trying to save you but you're gone" reminded me a bit of "I tried to save you but I can't find the answer" aaaaall the way back to "Shadows" in Innocence & Instinct. Seems he found the answer now
But hymn of the missing is still in my opinion better than this track. Im biased lol. But this track is beautiful though 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

I went to Walmart today and the first cd I grab is Red's Gone album. After paying $59.88 for Super Mario Odyssey, I decided to buy the cd for $8.97. I am happy with my purchase. :)
This album is definitely a grower. Once you get past so of the new stuff they've tried to do in this album, you really start to appreciate what they did, and the songs become more satisfying each listen. Like when I first listened to this song, I was a huge fan cuz it was that hard rock style with the heavy riffs that they usually have. But then after a couple months of not listening to it, I think this song is absolutely beautiful

I first heard, Breath Into Me, back in... '06... I think, on the radio. I fell in love with the sound of y'all, bought the album, and committed every lyric of every song from End of Silence to memory! Saw y'all in Sapartinsburg PA in right before yalls release of Innocence & Instinct, best freaking concert ever! (Becuase we were in a tent with water up to our ankles and the rain was coming in sideways through the tent because there was a possible tornado near by, and yet y'all kept playing and delivered an unforgettable concert). The 2nd album came out and I loved every song! Saw y'all again at Creation Fest in PA right after Untill We Have Faces came out, from there my music tastes started to changed but I always came back to End of Silence. Loved the Acustic Breath Into Me on Release the Panic, like but didn't love Beauty and Rage, unfortunately I thought yalls evolution had taken you to a good place but not my place. I heard this Album had dropped but wasn't excited for it, so this is actually the first time I've heard it, A.I - Singularity and now this... this is beautiful! They are wonderfully atmospheric, haunting and bring a year to my eyes with how the lyrics hit my heart. I have to say you guys are fantastic and I am so happy to see you are still going strong! Love you guys! Thanks for all the joy you impart and the solid lyrics! - A fan for 12ish years. P..S bout every Album

The piano work in this song reminds me of No Quarter from Led Zeppelin. Simply wow. This is one of my favorites songs by Red already and yes I have all of their albums and love each one. There is something different about this album. I have a vibe that this is going to be mega huge for Red.
