    I like the idea of a smaller pack. I think it encourages you to pack lighter and more efficiently even for longer hikes. Thanks for the detailed review!

      So many loose straps like on the waist belt, do you know of any product like a small buckle or elastic loop to keep the straps in place?

    Hey Chris this is Derek. Thank you for doing the reviews on the different types of Osprey packs, it helped me a lot on 2 packs i was wanting to get. I got the Osprey Stratos 36 and Osprey Kestrel 48 packs and I really like them. I thought about getting the Osprey Atmos AG 65 at REI but they did not have any in stock but they had the Gregory Baltoro 65 and it has the antigravity system to it and is real similar to the Osprey Atmos AG 65. Thanks again brother, you do excellent reviews

    I have love the Stratos line. My only wish would be that it had a stretch mesh front pocket like the Talon series. I prefer that to the zippered pocket Osprey went with for the Stratos. Otherwise great day pack. 👍🏼

    I bought a manta 24 today for 200 bucks. It came with the hydration bladder, trecking pole holder, and rain cover. But then later in the day I found the Stratos 24 for 130 bucks but it doesn’t have the hydration bladder. As an old guy getting back into hiking, should I return the manta and get the Stratos?

    Great reviews of the Stratos 34 and the Talon 33. I'm struggling to choose the best balance for me for long day hikes in the ADK High Peaks with rough terrain and fair amount of scrambling. My main goal in upgrading from my other daypacks is that they lack a proper hip belt to take the weight, making long days tough on the shoulders/neck. Talon is lighter but the Stratos might be more comfortable and cooler. The Talon fits anything in one big top loader, but the Stratos panel loading compartments make it easy to organize and get to things (food, first aid, extra layers, maps, etc.). Weight is a slight factor but the main thing I don't love about the Stratos is that the sleeping bag section does not have a removable separator, which would make it more flexible. Any other thoughts to help me decide which way the scale tips?

    For day hike in summer, for winter snowshoeing, what do you recommend ? Stratos 36 or Kestrel 38 ?

    New to the channel. You make great videos. Question for you. Which pack to you prefer the most. This one or the talon 33? I would be using it for overnight snow shoeing trips. Thanks man.

      Thank you...I like the suspension on the Stratos, very robust /comfortable... 34L is pretty small for an overnighter...could be done though with the right gear.

      @@basecampchris thanks for the reply Chris. I think I’ll go with the stratos 36L. Took us 10 hours to snow shoe 5 kilometers in the hakkoda mountains a few days ago. I pulled a sled but i want a small overnight bag. Sled was horrible for the conditions we were in.

    Im torn whether to buy Stratos 34 or Stratos 36. I prefer panel loading compared to top on 36. Im going solo backpacking in Europe next year for 3-4 months, and I need a backpack that would fit into carry on flight. I'm a minimalist 5'9 170lbs guy, and i would bring few clothes with me. In terms of tech, I would probably bring 13' macbook pro because I do video editing, and travel book. I also will bring Fujiflm XT4 camera with 1 lens. Im going summer next year so I dont need too heavy/thick clothing. What do you think I should buy? Or any other backpack suggestion that you give me? Thanksss!

    I had ordered a Stratos 24 and thought it was a bit too small, and ordered the S/M Stratos 34. To my surprise, the 34 is much smaller than the 24. Any thoughts?

    Does the air gap panel not make this pack unstable for any scrambling with it being over 2 inches from your back if the pack was fully laden. I have heard people talk about this issue .

    Hello nice video. I just ordered this pack in gator green on ospreys website it shows the hydration bladder sliding in right behind the shoulder harness iam trying to contact osprey to see whats going on. All the videos shows a spot in the main compartment while on there website its behind shoulder harness. Makes me wonder if this pack is designed to mount the bladder both ways to make room in the main compartment.

    • @basecampchris
      @basecampchris  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@basecampchris hello ya it seems there has been A qeiut revised version of this pack they didnt really Anounce they redesigned the top shoulder harness and the hydration bladder now slides in behind the shoulder harness. You can recognize it buy a blue H20 tag plus they added some more padding to were the harness connects to the velcro . If you left up the flap behind the harness there is a bladder hanger . I noticed vendors are selling the older one at full price and not telling customers there not receiving the revised model even though they showed a pic of the new one. Classic bait and switch lol.
