The trial for Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students, may not start until the summer of 2025. His defense attorney also said she still doesn't understand how Kohberger was identified as a suspect more than a year after his arrest. Law&Crime's Angenette Levy talks with attorney Mark Weaver, who has prosecuted death penalty cases, about the developments in this episode of Crime Fix - a daily show that delves into the biggest stories in crime.

All I know is, watching the person who drove the exact route the Elantra took & looped around as many times as the report says, is down right terrifying to think about. With every pass the car made, it always ended up with a direct view straight into Maddie's bedroom. The amount of stalking, circling, waiting for the right moment is bone chilling when you see it in that perspective.

Sad but very common. Look at the case of Kenneth Herring.
Hannah Payne murdered him in May 2019.
Multiple people watched her commit the unprovoked murder.
She was arrested at the scene a few minutes after the murder, with the murder weapon in her hand.
She was charged with murder right away.
      BUT....
It took 4&1/2 YEARS, to come to trial, in December 2023. The most simple case possible.
The trial lasted less than 5 days. The jury took less than 2 hours to find her guilty.
Yet his family had to wait for almost 5 years.
Worse Hannah Payne wasn't kept in jail. The judge gave her a small bond, which she posted immediately.
She was totally free, living at home, enjoying herself, seeing her friends and family, doing all her favourite things. She was even allowed to keep her guns. She just wasn't allowed to carry them around, as she went out and did all the things she liked doing. Which included lying about Mr Herring, over and over. She showed zero remorse, was always totally self righteous. Even smug.
Mr Herring's family couldn't see him, couldn't spend time with him. Or even tell him they loved him.
They did get lots of telephone calls though. From people saying they were going to come kill them. Let me be precise, people describing how they were going to lynch them.
      Justice. Georgia style.

    • @DogTBH
      @DogTBH 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It's not only the forgetting though. I watched a few videos after literally spending weeks when this tragedy came out with little sleep,it just caught me,but what I was going to say is; I think that by prolonging this even further 'they' (whoever they are) are pushing on to something called the Mandela effect. The 'recent video' that came out from allegedly Linda Lane, was there about a year ago, just a different angle with the same sound fragments even. It's that someone else said it in a comment that made me to be sure of myself because I heard it back when it was coming to light.
      Stop stalling already!
But...and I say but....what IF he is not the one or not alone? And where are the other 2 in this. This case blows my mind.
I hope the families find rest soon though🙏

It seems like if an attorney wants to push back the trial date so far, they should be required to lay out why by showing each thing they need to do and the amount of time needed for each task. If the defense in this case had to do this, they wouldn't be able to justify their request.

@@kaineandrews3790Police needed to arrest someone. This investigation was botched. Are they still investigating the other male DNA found and not identified? They never looked at ladder against house going up to windown and a roof that had "red stuff" on it. They took truck loads of property from the home to return to families but families never got those items. Why? Who were the guys in cowboy outfits with no police ID who were filmed visiting the address? The list goes on. You might want to look up details relating to Brent Kopacka. He was unalived by the same bungling police when they stormed his apartment. And none of their body cameras were on.

Justice that they’re unlikely to get. They’re gonna drag this out forever and a day to make sure our innocent little lambikins gets a “fair trial,” then they’re going to coddle him and come up with 8,000 reasons that it’s totally not his fault (probably while a legion of delusional fangirls talk about how hot he is and how innocent he must be), then if they *do* convict him it’ll be tied up in appeals forever and by the time it’s finally decided he’ll just hop on out on time served, change his name, and it won’t have mattered at all.

The logistics of what you're suggesting don't make sense. There is a minimum mandatory term of life in prison for first-degree murder in Idaho. That is in lieu of any death sentence. There is no way he would ever get "time served" or a lesser sentence. The judge has no discretion to give a term lesser than life imprisonment.
Once he is convicted, appeals won't matter -- the best dude could ever hope for is a retrial -
but no jury will acquit him. Not with forensics and 4 dead kids.
