I’m wondering if you could take a wall mounted flat screen tv mount that tilts and swivels and attach it to a south facing wall on a house. Then you could manually adjust it a 2-3 times a day to maximize wattage. I’d love to see a video on that.
I really haven't found the need to adjust it that often. I think taking in account some inefficiency when determining the size of the panel you need is easier.
I bought a 75kg rated tv mount just for this purpose. It has a huge 350watt panel on it. Not so much to optimize output, but I can mount it on a south east wall and still face it south or sw. Also I can swivel it 15 degrees down for the low winter sun in Norway, and store it flat to the wall when I'm not at the house or in high wind. Works great.
I see the dog digging in the woods. LOL. Such a happy dog wagging his tail so rapidly. I'm so far out in the woods we can't get fiber. Still on satellite. We can't even get USPS mail delivery, city water, sewer, or trash pickup. We get maybe 12Mb down on a good day and 3Mb up. Also have those bandwidth restrictions of 150Gb per month (but it's not really full Gb. It's only 1000Mb x 150 and not 1024Mb x 150).
@@TangoOscarMikeN3WS Yeah, we pre-ordered Starlink. Still waiting on it. Hughesnet was absolute garbage. No DSL available. We can't even get dialup out here. Internet goes out when it rains or is cloudy. The bandwidth limits also really suck. So hoping Starlink will be better.
I wouldn't overthink it a few cross pieces and you are good I have for on the camper and doing 65-70 mph they are fine with the small brackets and eternabond tape
Hi Tom, If you need to make a mount, use flat stock along the short dimension and angle for the long dimension. The angle will add a lot of stiffness. Yesterday, when you made that contact with Jason as KA6LMS/5 on 10W, I reduced my power to 10W and when he next called for QRP made it through on the second call with my yagi. You and the family stay safe. 73 WJ3U
Hey thats a great idea.
Now use that ol dish to make a slot antenna for 2m.
Team replay for the win!

When we first move in here we could only get 3mb DSL. That was up and down. If that Starlink lives up to the hype is should be a good option.

Congratulations on the contact. I used some 1 inch angle. Seems plenty strong enough. plenty of room to add a second 50 watt panel.
Do you have a follow up vid link?
