My TV says that it is receiving a 576p signal when I turn on safe mode, but the screen is still black. I know it's not my HDMI cable or tv because my Xbox works fine with that same HDMI cable. I also tried switching out my power supply and the same problem persists. Before it would work and then go black 20 to 30 min later, and now it won't show anything at all. I also thought it was an overheating issue, but then again it should show something after I leave it cool right? Any help is appreciated.
Hi! I would also thought heat could have been the issue, but that (like you write) does not seem to be the case. Does the fan spin up very quickly and how is the inside when it comes to dust etc.? Suppose it also could be something more severe happening (like hard drive failure). But hard to say. Have you tried having the console disconnected from power for a while and then connecting it again and retrying the procedure? // Chris

But if it goes to rest mode and I then press the "PS" button, the PS4 changes the blue LED to white, as if it were on, but no image appears. The same thing happens if it has to be restarted, if when it is working and I put it to restart, it restarts without an image. And it also happens if I turn it off and then try to turn it on, the PS4 turns off, then turns on, the white LED appears but there is no image. Every time I turn off the PS4 I have to unplug it, wait about 10 minutes and then plug it back in for it to turn on normally. Do you have any idea what this could be?
Hi! Well, it definitely sounds like something is being off with the sleep settings. So I´d start there, and also try and reset them (if there is such an option, unsure atm.). Have you tried it with another screen or monitor? I suppose there can be some oddities going on in the connection between the console and your current monitor making the screen not recognising that the console is on. // Chris

It didnt work for me. I got through most of the stages. When it came to picking the resolution, I picked 1080p which is my tv resolution (1920X1080) but still went back to "no signal". I tried picking Automatic as well, same thing...please help

Hi! It can be that there is some kind of data error causing the malfunctioning. It does sound like you are able to enter Safe Mode at least. You could try frist to select the "rebuild database" to see if that does anything. And a last thing to try option can also be the "initialise PS4" which is basically to factory reset the console. This however does remove everything currently stored on the console. But as a list thing to try if might be worth a go at least. // Chris

i have a similar issue, when i turn my ps4 on, it will on and later do a restart and I'll be left with black screen but I can hear the Audio and when i operate the GamePad it's functioning. I'm using a smart TV. but when i change the TV to non smart tv the ps4 work normal. and if i remove the HDMI cable from the non smart TV and connect it back to the smart TV it will display normal and i can play games however if i then restart the ps it will go back to black screen again. unless i first connect to non smart TV and then switch to the smart TV. also once it's connected to a different TV i can turn if completely and connect it with my TV it will work but if it goes off or i restart the ps I'll end up with black screen... and when i boot into safe mode it will display but once i select change resolution, it will restart and the screen will be black but i can change the resolution by guessing and scrolling up/down and it still won't work after that

Could there be some kind of energy saving setting that kicks in on the TV upon restarting the PS4 and prevents the TV from picking up the image? Other than that I am unsure what could be wrong. hi, my monitor turns on and off when i turned my ps4 on. And when i did the safe mode, the monitor doesn't display anything (ps ; it shows safe mode, but the monitor turns off and on automatic forever , and when i clicked on the change resolution option, it restarted the ps4 and didnt show any display on the monitor) . I am far from no expert here but if the colors are changing during startup this _might_ indicate something odd going on with anything related to the graphics card in the console. You could try a factory reset via the Safe mode menu to see if that solves anything. Bear in mind though that that will delete everything currently stored on the console :-/ Other than that I would probably recommend having a repair shop take a look at it to see if it might be something easy-to-fix. I tried exactly what you said and still doesn't work. This happened after I did a full system restore.

Hi, it does sound like there could be something else going on rather than the video output being off. If you haven´t tried it already, try disconnecting both the TV and the console from power for about 10 min and then plug them back in and retry the procedure. // Chris
When i do the step my ps4 wont load into the change resolution setting the only thing i can use is just the safe mode nothing i even tries to reinstall software using usb it says cannot reach storage

@GetThereFaster yeah I did stil no sign of life or anything it dose boot op but the problem is somtime it just turn off by it self and crash lag idk all that started today it was very smooth yestoday

@@GetThereFaster i tried that too but my ps4 keep turning off i even downloaded a hole brw ps4 system and data base restoring my ps4 keep freezing when I turning on and somtime turn off by it self idk what to do i even cleaned it
@@firasalkteb1555 Then I would say you have done basically all you can to rule out software issues. My guess would then fall to that there´s something hardware-related going on. Whether it´s the HDD or something more severe. Suppose you could try and replace the hard drive and see if that does anything. Next step after that is basically the motherboard, but then it's probably more cost effective to buy a new console I´m afraid :-/ // Chris

hi, my monitor turns on and off when i turned my ps4 on. And when i did the safe mode, the monitor doesn't display anything (ps ; it shows safe mode, but the monitor turns off and on automatic forever , and when i clicked on the change resolution option, it restarted the ps4 and didnt show any display on the monitor) . I've tried using my ps4 on my tv and it works normally. Please help. I bought vga converter to hdmi two times already.

It's too late, I reinstalled PS4 system and format all my games and gamesave. Works normally.

@@rod9804 Hm, I have had this happen a few times on my Xbox (One). There it happened two, three times in a matter of days. So there might just be a coincidence that it happened again. However if it keeps happening there might be something off with the video settings, or that´s at least where I´d start checking to see if anything seems out of place. // Chris

Hi! If the screen is still black after doing the video reset the issue is most likely something else than the resolution being off. Have you tried any different screens/monitors? Also make sure to check the brightness and contrast settings on the HDMI-port you’re currently using for the console. Hope you’re able to solve it! // Chris

@@GetThereFasterHey I’m having an issue in which relates to this video though in my situation, I turn on my console it starts out with a blue light color then to white after seeing the ps sign my screen then goes black, I’ve already tried changing my resolution from safe mode but after it restarting it just goes back to black screen, I even bought a new power adapter and a new hdmi cable but it’s a 4k hdmi cable so maybe that could be the problem? I might of messed up buying the wrong cable? the type of tv I use is a Panasonic i also tried on a different tv as well but nothing, I don’t know man this whole situation is stressing any information you may have would help.

I am far from no expert here but if the colors are changing during startup this _might_ indicate something odd going on with anything related to the graphics card in the console. You could try a factory reset via the Safe mode menu to see if that solves anything. Bear in mind though that that will delete everything currently stored on the console :-/ Other than that I would probably recommend having a repair shop take a look at it to see if it might be something easy-to-fix. Doubting that the HDMI-cable would be the problem if you´ve already tried a few. Hope you´re able to sort it somehow. Sorry not being of any real help :-/ // Chris
