I'm looking at a random American dude in his car reviewing an unlocalised game from Japan which is the 10th game of its series. What?

I didn't think I'd get this much enjoyment from watching these car reviews. Thanks for making them. Looking forward to kuro 2!
Ps. Regarding Judith, maybe the localisation was exaggerated because in JP they never went beyond calling her an 'exhibitionist'.

Just a warning if anyone comes across this video, there is a decent amount of spoilers ymmv

I thought I had given a spoiler warning in the video, but I checked and didn't. I'm going to add one to the description.

I agree with you on the combat, but apart from bosses, combat has never been much of a focus for me in any turn-based RPG. Towards chapter 3-to-4-ish I realized it makes more sense to just stun the enemies, shard into turn-based, and just spam an S-Craft to end the battle in a second (get much of my gauge refilled by the next battle) and move on, both bc the field combat sucks, and bc the turn based system gives more EXP bonuses. Trails, for me, is so much about the story that combat vs random mooks falls right off the radar for me. I can give a pass, even if the whole action/turn based dynamic is pretty half baked
And yes, I completely agree the final chapter was a total slog. Super boring. Once I noticed my EXP wasn't increasing by a significant amount I skipped all enemies and just bolted for the Diablo Spheres to get it over with as quick as possible. Same thing with the last dungeon. Skipped virtually every enemy. Just get me to the end goddamit

I agree that the story is the focus for Trails, but I genuinely love the combat as well. I just wish Kuro's action was a bit more engaging.
How'd you like the story/characters in this one?

@@JJNWSGHOST0299 Oh I'm there with you, the shard combat is perfectly fine, just they really went overboard with the sheer amount of enemies in some dungeons, and they tend to drag.
I thought the characters were fantastic, probably my favorite crew since the SSS. One thing about Agnes which you didn't mention is at the end of the game, she acts very similarly to Renne (does the exact same wink and grin), which I think was 100% intentional by the writers to show her personal growth and influence by her more experienced friends
I also really enjoyed the story even if towards the end it got a little stale basically rehashing the Great Twilight. Naturally there are gonna be a ton of loose ends because this is the 1st game of a new arc. But the world and characters were set up great and I'm really excited to see how they deliver in Crimson Sin

@ak47dragunov I'm not sure I noticed that. It makes sense. Agnes grew a lot from her imterac with Van. I can see Renne influencing her too.
