How comes I’ve missed this fab video 🙄 Wow what a harvest of gorgeous figs. A green house really does help ripen figs up in our less favourable climatic conditions 🌱
I moved into an apartment in Berkeley California with a pair of fig trees in the yard just making a mess, the variety you have on the bottom right in the beginning. I kept the yard clean for free! Yum!
Amazing harvest! Interesting to hear someone else talk about the apical bud concept as I've also noticed the difference in growth rate vs a lateral bud. Too many figs is a good problem to have 🙌🌿
Beautiful harvest!
WooHoo!! Good job!!

That’s a problem I wouldn’t mind to deal with! Thanks 🙏🏽 for sharing amigo!
Wow, great harvest, Karl! That Smith fig looks nice and jammy!
Great to see how many figs you are getting now on a regular basis, clearly the size and vigour of the trees is the key to success

Excellent. Great crop Karl.
Wow ... that is a fantastic crop. Well done. 👍🏽
Hell yeah!!!
One step further could be removing just the tips in winter. You'll get more branching and more time till they reach the top.
@@RossRaddi thanks Ross I’ll try that
I wish I could taste those fresh vegetables right off the vine
Are all your trees in ground in the polytunnel?
@@billyblunt63 yep
Do you use any heating in the greenhouse?
@@ivindmartinsen3949 no
Are all the trees planted straight into the ground? Have they any root restriction?
@@andywalt5205 hey Andy, all in ground, no restrictions
Ok cheers Karl. With the crop you've been getting it shows root restriction isn't really necessary!
@@andywalt5205 yeah, I reckon it depends on your growing scenario. Without the polytunnel I might not be getting anything
How big is your greenhouse?
@@Antizyklisch about 60f long. Pretty big
Too many figs first world problems😊enjoy
Fig trees need potassium fertilizer at the beginning of spring in order to obtain large, sweet-tasting fruits
@@rnggodzrngtrohama9932 not round here. I don’t feed these trees anything!
