Visit to Radha Kunda with Indradyumna Swami

The Most Sacred Place - Radha Kunda
A few days ago our parikrtama party visited Radha Kunda, the most sacred place in the universe. We approached Srimati Radharani's kunda with all the humility we could muster and bathed in the sacred waters. We also listened to a discourse on Radha Kunda's glories and relished kirtan and prasadam afterwards.

Hare Krishna. I was fortunate to bathe in Radha Kunda on my 28th birthday in October 1977. Stopped to offer respectful obeisances at Govardhan Hill en route. I stayed at the Krishna Balarama Mandir in Vrndavan for a month leading up to Prabhpada's disappearance. These are the most significant places I have ever been. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

केवलेनैव स तदा महिषीत्वम् इयात् पुरे ॥१.२.३०३ ॥
riraṃsāṃ suṣṭhu kurvan yo vidhi-mārgeṇa sevate |
kevalenaiva sa tadā mahiṣītvam iyāt pure ||1.2.303 ||
“A person who desires amorous enjoyment with Śrī Kṛṣṇa, but serves only through the vidhi-mārga, will attain the position of a Queen of Dvārakā.”
Analog translation: “A person who serves on the path of vaidhī-bhakti with a desire for a conjugal relationship with the Lord and a high position, but without desire for the gopīs’ type of love, after some time becomes a queen in Dvārakā.”

Kripa-kanika Vyakhya: "In his commentary on the verse of Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu here under discussion, the blessed author has written: - yeṣāṁ tu vṛndāvane rādhā-kṛṣṇayor mādhuryāsvādane ‘bhilāṣaḥ athaca nyāsa mudrādi vaidhī mārgānusāreṇa bhajanaṁ teṣāṁ dvārakāyāṁ na rukmiṇī-kāntasya prāptis tatrābhilāṣābhāvāt. na vā vṛndāvane śrī rādhā-kṛṣṇayoḥ prāptiḥ rāga mārgeṇa bhajanābhāvāt. tasmāt teṣāṁ vidhi mārgeṇa bhajana kāryasya aiśvarya-jṣānasya prādhānyaṁ yatra yathābhūtasya śrī vṛndā-vanasyāṁśe goloke śrī rādhā-kṛṣṇayoḥ prāptiḥ na tu śuddha mādhuryamaye vṛndāvane iti jṣeyam.
If someone desires for amorous enjoyment with Śrī Kṛṣṇa without eagerly longing for things related to that, such as Vraja, and does not give up items of worship such as worshipping the Queens or meditating on Dvārakā, however unfavorable they may be, and thus serves in the vidhi-mārga (through meditation and practice of the mantra of gopīkānta), he will become an associate of the Queens of Dvārakā. Those who desire to relish the sweetness of Śrī-Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa in Śrī Vṛndāvana but still practice vidhi-mārga bhajana with items such as nyāsa and mudrā, will not attain Dvārakā, because they do not desire Rukmiṇi-kānta. On the other hand, because they do not practice the pure suddha rāga-mārga bhajana they also do not attain Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa in Vṛndāvana. Therefore such a practitioner of vidhi-mārga bhajana will attain Śrī-Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa in Śrī Goloka, in the sector of Śrī Vṛndāvana where the majesty of Kṛṣṇa prevails - not the purely sweet Vṛndāvana.
Śrīmat Rūpa Gosvāmī has described Goloka as a vaibhava (majestic manifestation) of Gokula."
