Good, wonderful morning to my favorite Desert Rats. Out and about again. I believe you mentioned that you were in utah. I don't suppose you might tell me what part? I live in West Central, Utah, almost dead center in the States' west side. 90 miles from the Nevada border. Anyway, it looks like you found an old copper dig. There is a lot of those in western utah. It would be an honor to show you around my territory if the situation ever presented itself. Anyway, it's good to see you, and thanks for taking me along with you. And as always, be safe in all you do. Thanks again.
Hi Bob. This is in SW Utah. We are staying near Mesquite currently. There isn't a lot around here for us to explore. We do plan on getting up your way when the weather is warmer to visit the mines on the Utah/Nevada border. I don't want to say exactly where. I'll let you know if and when we get up there. Hi David. We're happy that you're enjoying our videos. We have been hiking around the SW part of Utah and checking out old waste piles from copper mines when we saw this one. Thanks for the nice comment and Happy Holidays to you!👍😁
@peterwaroblak166 Hi Peter. I'm glad that you enjoyed the explore. We travel for eight months of the year in an RV with limited space, so we don't do a lot of rock collecting. Also, many of the mines could still be covered by a mineral claim, so we wouldn't want to claim jump. This is in Utah. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
The hike up was interesting with unique rocks and vegetation. Not a well defined mine that one... Kind of where ever they found ore worth digging out..
Hi Max. Glad that you liked the hike. It's a bit different terrain and flora than we usually see. The miners were definitely following the mineral veins the easiest way that they could. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
Hi David. Thanks for the nice comment. What part of Utah are you in. We haven't found a lot of good mines in the SW corner of the state. We will probably be back a bit farther north on the Utah /Nevada border in the spring. Thanks for watching!👍😁
Hi Phillip. I think that copper mines could be quite profitable if the right ore body was found. It's not in the range of gold prices, but the volume of it being mined versus gold is much higher. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
What a strange configuration for a mine, while I did see some ties with spikes for rail, there didn't seem to be any haulage passages. Could you see where any rail might have run? That Carling Red Cap can looks to date to the '60s. It's a long way from Tacoma, WA. to where ever you two are here in UT. Interesting old mine, thanks for bringing us along! ✌
@@ifixphns Yes, the few mines that we've been to in this area are all configured the same way. They have small stopes and weird passageways with no real levels or haulage adits like we usually see. I'm guessing they were worked by the same mining crews. That Carling can was fun to see. First one for me. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍😁
Thanks!

Thanks for the comment. Happy holidays to you as well. Just subbed to your channel and will check out some videos as time allows. 👍😁
@TomandJulieMineExploring I'm still in the process of building and modifying the channel. I created it years ago but just started recently using it. I'm horrible at the long video still learning but I have a lot of shorts up. Thanks for the support you guys keep up the good videos 🤙
@@DiscoverFarOffPlacesYou're welcome. Good luck with the channel!
Hi Julie😇🤗
Hi Gary!😊
I love your videos and adventures! Thank you for featuring a Utah mine! How did you find this colorful mine? It is always fun and sometimes nerve-wracking to see you and the amazing Julie in these mines. I live in Orem near Sundance/Provo Canyon. Stay safe and have a wonderful Holiday Season!
Hi David. We're happy that you're enjoying our videos. We have been hiking around the SW part of Utah and checking out old waste piles from copper mines when we saw this one. Thanks for the nice comment and Happy Holidays to you!👍😁

Thanks for watching, John!👍😁

Hi Richard. Thanks for watching! 💰💰😁
Thats a Hobbit door!
Hi Dave. I like that door quite a lot. The catch/closure is cool. Thanks for the comment!👍😁
Great explore! do you guys have a good collection of mineral specimens? What part of the world is this?
Did they backpack the ore out of the mine back then??? Strange no rail or flat surface anywhere???
Lots of questions about this operation ???
Good question, Phillip. I don't quite understand how the ore moved, either. It's not a traditional layout for a small mine. Thanks for commenting!👌😊

Great job Tom and Julie.
Next time you're in Utah, please let me know. I'd like to join you on a mining adventure if at all possible.
Hi David. Thanks for the nice comment. What part of Utah are you in. We haven't found a lot of good mines in the SW corner of the state. We will probably be back a bit farther north on the Utah /Nevada border in the spring.
Thanks for watching!👍😁
@TomandJulieMineExploring Salt Lake City
I know of a few mines I'm central and northwestern
Utah a few in sw utah
@TomandJulieMineExploring welcome and thank u
I didn’t think copper was worth very much at that time, but I’m no miner and have limited knowledge about it 😢
Thanks!
