Sound of something woke me this morning, just before the dawn,
Poured myself a cup of coffee and put my old blue jeans on.
Sounded like an old bluegrass band, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs,
And there sat my old guitar, a 1960’s Gibson Dove.
In this room we always played, I’d love to live days again,
On and on every Saturday night, seemed like it would never end.
How’d we get from there to here, how did we stay alive?
Keeping all our love around or keeping it inside?

That a moment could last forever or it could just up and go.
April it came without warning in the spring of ‘69
Blue-eyed boy, a bundle of joy gonna carry the family line.
Won’t be headed off to war, the college plans fell through,
Six days on an assembly line seemed like the honest thing to do.
How’d we get from there to here, how did we stay alive?
Keeping all our love around or keeping it inside?
How’d we find the words to say, how did we ever know
That a moment could last forever or it could just up and go.
How about the time I met your mom, took her months for her to go,
Still the same all our love remains, it’s her you favor most.
Been 40 years since my daddy died, seems like he still ain’t gone
Smell a pipe and a Zippo lighter it’s like he’s right here at home.
Mama said he’s the only one, somehow she always knew,
Heart of gold and an immeasurable soul still had to leave him a time or two.
Now these hands that paved my way have betrayed me over time,
Parkinson’s the name they gave it, can’t even hold a fishing line.
Think I’ll head down to the café diner find a jukebox and play a tune,
Love to hear the sound of Flatt and Scruggs playing “Good Ol’ Mountain Dew”

@@BradThompsonMusic what kind of phone it was looking almost 4k.i havent seen many videos with that quality.how do you feed the sound in.how trying to record my guitar practice but its not recording how i want it to.i go acoustic to condenser mic to mixer to computer -audactiy.or direct on my sony 1080p video camera.(it might be the best way)still getting the bugs out.
another way is electric guitar to mixer to computer but the chords ring into each other if i dont mute after every strum.
im getting a new acoustic/electric soon to see if that slows down the chords faster(currently 3 seconds)
i want to get this good so i can monitor my progress.i will never be as good as you and keros but oh well you guys inspire me to keep trying.im teaching myself,i can hit the chords but the stumbling block is figuring out the strum pattern.i think that comes from inside you guys from many years of practice.i wish you and keros would do a duet.he is really good and does do duets.i could arange it if you wanted to do it.
