Thanks to Marc from www.longisland... for loaning me his lovely watch. I asked if I could borrow one for a few reviews, and he happily sent me one over to borrow! In this video I take a closer look at the watch, and discuss its stats and specs etc, then take it out for a trip to the woods!

I bought my 2nd watch from Marc about 3 months ago. An ISL-73 38mm by 200 meter dive style with a Seiko NH-36 Day/Date. It’s running at about +6 a day and is awesome…$329.00 USD. No, I have no affiliation with LIW except I am a loyal customer/subscriber for very good reasons. Great review! I have this watch in sunburst green. Beautiful!
I've followed Marc for a long time now and his advice in his Watch And Learn videos are particularly useful. He's a great guy with a great product, a little pricey maybe but he comes across as an honest guy.
I love buying from Mark. The Islander brand was a great idea to review.
I have been following Marc for a few months now,he has some fantastic watches on his site. But his islander range are second to none,saving up for a larger yellow,and the next time I’m over visiting family in the USA I hope to get one sent to them fingers crossed.

i have several LIW's now. best bang for the buck. Marc's a great guy, fellow watch geek and has great videos. his customer service is second to none. No one comes even close.
I agree, customer service and buying from someone who obviously knows and loves watches is all part of the buying experience. I'm going to get another one, and instead of borrowing for review. I will buy it!

Can't believe I've somehow missed this video. Marc seems like a really nice guy, who shows with for instance his excellent Watch and Learn series that he's not just a "guy who sells watches", but a true enthusiast. Always interesting to hear him explain technical aspects of a watch from an engineer's point of view. Too bad that buying from him (from the US) would get me so many extra charges, duties etc. Great review as usual.

@watch me with watches, A curious Yank here, so how does that work with the taxes? You mentioned a tax (20?) in one of the comments but someone else wrote that ‘they must have let you slide on the VAT (40). Since you’re returning the watch, will the taxman credit you back any tax paid on the return?

Really want one of these now, I'm currently daily driving a Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 38mm and the dimensions are very similar.
The green is really catching my eye.

Seeing this late, but great review and a great watch and Marc is a very conscientious guy who looks after his customers. Just one thing I have an 7.9" wrist so it would be small. However, Long Island Watch does supply extra links totally free. 👍

I like my Pepsi Islander so much that I sold my SKX. Bezel is stiff but I figure if you are diving you don't want too easy. Did I overpay vs. other Chinese sourced watches? And I like the screw pins too. Please send it back to Marc so I can buy it!!!!!!!!!!
love the watch and i have been flowing island watches, especially the weight dial with black indices.. sadly he doesn't ship to Asia.. hope he will in the future

Nice review mate, looking at your pictures I couldn’t tell clearly but how are the undersides of the crown guards? Are they finished a little sharp and pointy, any discomfort on wrist - these where complaints from earlier Islanders and the current Steeldive SKX if I remember correctly...? 🤔
Islander was perfectly comfortable with no sharp bits. Steeldive needed a bit of a buff with sandpaper to hone the guard a little on one side. Its perfect now.
I've thought about these but I think the steel dive is the best option. It maybe not as well finished but the price is so much better
He should make the logo slightly smaller and off to ether the left or right side of his Islander name, but not big, more like Rolex, or Hamilton.
Thanks for the review. Excellent. May I ask if you are sure you didn’t remove or lose any links? I have a 7.25 inch wrist and had to remove two links and it’s still not tight.
Thinking back, this was a review piece I borrowed, so may have lost few links along the way!
