I have never been happy to do a flat felled seam. You have changed that with a very neat method which is not bulky and is extremely neat. I love your very straight, neat stitching. Thank you for the very best video on a flat felled seam.
I love the scissors on a rope around your neck...I will try that! I can never keep track of my scissors when sewing, going back and forth between the machine, ironing board and serger.
I thought I’d have to add seam allowance to make a French seam, but the way you explained makes a lot of sense. Now to convert the measurements to metric and I’ll be trying my first such seam!
Hi Leonor. You can use about a 5mm allowance for the first part and then 10mm/1 cm (or just under that) for the second part. That would be if you were working with a 1.5cm seam allowance. Happy Sewing!
StudioFabricana thanks for doing the maths for me, that’s very kind! I was actually watching your 3rd video of this series when you replied. Loving the Hong Kong seam 😊
Very nice and clear! I need to up my seam quality! thank you for this.... also I never thought of putting my scissors round my neck!... do you remove them to cut or just lean forward?
Great voice. Good explanations. But I need close up for what you are doing. Just close ups of the pic you hv and showing the needle when stitching. You might use a lit jean color and dark thread because it is jUST a learning item. Thank you
Please check out some of our more recent videos! We've got lots of close ups of the sewing process and the work there. This video is older from 2017, and we have a bunch of updated videos showing just that!

Good tutorial! Excellent to put both types of seams on the same video.
Thank you very much. Your instructions are very clear, and this is exactly what this beginner needed.
Great demonstration and description, easy to follow.
Super tutorial for both types of seams which I have followed up with very pleasing seams. Thank you so much.
Brilliant! Really logical and with nice tips to get a great finish. Thank you.
Thankyou for your really clear instructions this was great

I'm totally dependent on them. If I'm sitting at my sewing machine and go to grab them to trim threads and they're not there, I panic. :)

Nice
Excellent 🙏👏
Really great lesson. Thank you!
3:10 Press it first, than cut. Is that also a possibility?
Hi John. Yes that would work as well. Just be careful not to catch the body of your garment when cutting. :)
@@myleshurtubise9420 Great. Thanks!
Camera person decided your face was more important than showing the work

Nice! Thanks ;->
Why sew a 1/4" seam allowance and then trim to 1/8", why not just sew 1/8" to start with, anyone?
It's just so you have room for error! Sewing a 1/8" seam allowance is very hard to get accurate without accidentally creating holes/mis-stiches
@@StudioFabricana ya I agree it's easier for the feed dogs to grab the underside first time you stitch together
I think he just said that denim is a Sith... (dark side is the right side) LOL
There is an easier way to sew a flat fell seam. Look at the pfaff flat fell seam video.
Thanks for the tip Herman. We will check that video out!
