I've now watched the first couple of episode's Ariah, and I agree that Sherry's voice is enchantingly beautiful; like a delicate wisp of magic in the summer wind. So while I'm delighted to say that I wasn't disappointed for a change, lol, I'm worried that it'll hurt you even more if I say that, having listened to the original version and your cover back to back several times now, you are each equally amazing in different ways and I honestly can't choose between you. Because now, I'm imagining you crying "No, I'm Trash & Sherry Is The Queen!" As you fight to put the crown on her head! xD
This is a favorite. I would take Lodoss War to a desert Island. It's the closest thing we have to a Zelda or Lord of the Rings anime. I had to rewatch it in anticipation of Tears of the Kingdom.
I know what Lodoss War is, kinda, I have not seen the show, and I'm not familiar with the song, it's just that this sounds like it would have been the original singer and song, for sure. Good work!

So it's great... It really is, but... I get completely different vibes from your performance and from the original. The original, especially if you take into account the lyrics, is like a whisper, like a summer's night breeze, cool and gentle, it's delicate, intimate, passionate, but still very, very reserved, very demure. Your performance is great, but... it comes off too strong, at least for my taste. You come off strong and powerful, with a deep voice, almost like it's trying to dominate the space, to set its own territory, whereas Sakamoto fits the lyrics much better IMO, with a more reserved, submissive performance. It's more of an issue with the arrangement, rather than with your voice itself - this type of vocal performance can work great - and most of the time it does - it's just that... For me, the emotions in your voice don't work well for this song.
The Japanese vocalist could not reach the high notes. The english version is written this way and the vocalist expresses the high notes almost flawlessly however I think it should go even higher maybe somewhere between high C and F6. I can’t pin point it exactly but the original female singer almost hits the range but I think the Japanese version was re written to accommodate this. Just my idea.
I am from Italy and addicted of this song. When it goes 'Io Sono Prigioniera' I get goosebump. Great performance, brava. I mean, bravissima.
