Thank you for the comment Azel. I really enjoy your style, keep it up homie! The rest of this is for Jenky, to clear up some confusion. I called it "Vortex" because Azel popularized it. The reason I said what I said about not having a name was because outside of Azel, I have not heard anybody call it by a specific name. I have been doing this sound for around 6 years since I started and never had a name for it. Also, Bataco was mentioned because he did this in a few battles, so I mentioned him for extra familiarity. It is all about getting people to realize what this sound is from the title so they know what they will learn.

A tip for people who don't get that pronounced high pitched whistle that Azel does, try to position your mouth so that it's more like a ballzee zipper. It's closer to how Azel positions it and helped me in learning this sound.

I have created this sound by my own a couple months ago,but i do it in the centre and i manage to do kicks with it,and i would describe it as an inward tongue roll with kinda vocalised whishle,i just hope it doesnt goes overused in the comunity as it is one of my personal sounds 😦

I can do clickrolls well whistling. But I don't know this one yet so I'll try and give it a go. I also have been trying to do an inward tooth whistle with a backspin roll because I've seen my friend do it. Maybe you can do a tutorial on an inward tooth whistle with a backspin roll too? Keep up the good work!
The inward tooth whistle requires a specific tongue positioning to get the whistle down. So i do not believe they can be combined together.

I could replicate this sound but with a different method, using tongue bass and exhaling with a hollow whistle, though, your tongue can't be on the roof of your mouth for the tongue bass, it has to be kicking off the front of your 2 top teeth, the tongue is very relaxed and far forward
After like 4 months of beat boxing I can’t really get any of the basic sounds to sound right, thinking there is something wrong with me...

So is a "backspin roll" like "Liquid Bass" that Azel does?
It is used in the liquid bass. Liquid bass is a combo of inward bass and the backspin roll.
TylaDubya O.k. cool. I stumbled onto the Backspin roll the other day when I was playing with liproll variations. I love the sound by itself but It'll be a lot cooler when I can figure out lip positioning. Awesome tutorials man, you explain thing so I can understand them.

Isn’t a backspin roll the same thing as the sidfx scratch (the inward tongue rolling scratch Audical uses?) isn’t the backspin roll on the tip-middle of the tongue and the inward clickroll on the side of your tongue as it’s bent upwards at 90 degrees?

Personally I do it in the middle without dragging my jaw. And because i didn't get the backspin roll i use the inward od bass and it sounds same as azel's

um so like when I try to do the back spin roll I can't really make any noise with it when I did it a few times it sounded like snoring does that mean that I'm doing it right?

Others please trust me that when you try to do it, you might think that you're doing it wrong. No, you're not.You will slowly get the whistle and it will get stronger and stronger by practice.Just try to do rolls on your sides and keep doing until you get a whistle sound aswell.

I can do everything, but the whistle just won’t come. Backspin roll is easy, and I use it a lot in my beats, and I can move my jaw, I just can’t do the actual whistle. Any help and/or suggestions?
