How everyone missed blueberry could come down to 2 things. 1. They all tasted the blueberry part last which at that point makes your palette extremely confused 2. There was not enough blueberrys in there for it to be tasted
I always wondered if they get some sort of basic recipe for orientation. Some of the dishes are so sophisticated that i cant imagin them them winging it :D given how vast the culinary world is, nooone can expect someone to know how to cook any dish, yet they always seems to have a basic understanding of how to make everything shown
Probably the same as other Masterchef competitions in other countries where they outright have a recipe (I can't get over how Masterchef Asia finale was a literal 'copy this recipe' where they have a paper to read. Maybe in Canada iteration the written recipe is just hidden somewhere not visible to the camera.
Really, that's a failure on the part of the contest itself, not the contestants. If *everyone* misses the same element in a blind taste test, that indicates the element was irrelevant.
@HHopebringer the cake looks like a plain vanilla cake with 1 or 2 Blueberries sprinkled in. Missing the fact that it's supposed to be a Blueberry cake is nearly guarenteed.

@@319hiroyukiin the masterchef canada finale they have a day to think of their menu and then the next day they have to cook it
The problem with the layer cake is that the blue berry were not enough to be noticed.
no one tasted the blueberry
