This amv made me realise something about the anime.
Yuri loved skating because he looked up to Victor, and he liked Yuko (I think that's her name?). Then Yuko got married, and he lost her, but he still had Victor to look up to, and it wasn't really so much romantic love as it was fascination until he he was able to get closer to Victor as his coach. Even if Viktor wasn't the best coach in the world, he still was able to learn from him, and Yuri devoted his time and basically his life to Victor through skating.
If Victor didn't believe in Yuri that much Yuri would have been flabergasted over his silver medal, but Victor knew he could get Gold and that he had the potential of being better than himself, but Yuri still needs to work on his confidence, even if he is better than he was. He got that confidence from Victor.
He also never had any fire in his eyes until after he cried in front of Victor. Something there changed him, and he "fought" for Victor instead of just skating for him. He fought to change and grow because of Victor, and I strongly believe Yurio also had a small factor in growing because of both of them and causing that growth for both as well (yes including Victor). Victor knew Yuri was special the moment he laid eyes on his skating, and he remembered that drunk Japanese man who wanted him to be his coach. It puzzled him how a man with that much strength within him physically and emotionally could only place sixth, because he had the potential to beat even Victor (and he does he just has to see it in himself). Confidence is an issue not just in this anime, but in real life too. There are plenty of people who can do big things out there, but choose not to because there are other people doing other big things too and they don't think they can even match up to that.
Yuri's goal wasn't to get better at skating. He never wanted to get gold just to get gold. He wanted to be able to be on the same level as Victor, to be able to skate WITH him. His dream was to be able to skate with Victor and to meet him on equal grounds. A small part of him still probably believes he probably can't match up to Victor, yet Victor knows he can surpass him, not including scores. I'm not basing this off of the last episode's scores, because his free skate was just too great and amazing to even count it. Everyone does super well once and that isn't what they always do or that isn't what they're used to. Yuri doesn't skate like that on average (not saying he's terrible, obviously he's an amazing skater, I just mean he doesn't always skate like a god, and that's good because not everyone skates or does what they do their best all the time). Victor knows Yuri still has growth, but this is why Yuri said at the end of episode 11 that it had to end. He wasn't just doing it because he knew Victor wanted to skate. He also wanted to skate with Victor on the same ice like he always dreamed of, but his communication skills were a bit off, probably because he doesn't like asking for things or imputing his own opinion into things. He knew Victor wanted it too, so he tried his best to convey it, but we all (including Victor) thought he meant that because he didn't want Victor to be with him anymore, because that's how they got so close with Victor coaching him and teaching him. We all thought Yuri was giving him the cold shoulder, when in reality he just wanted to skate with Victor and he knew he wanted to skate with Yuri. Yuri was being a bit too progressive and forward, and it led to other negative thoughts.
And we got a nice happy ending with them skating to the song they both won with. Yuri won Victor, and Victor won gold, not just the medal, but Yuri and their rings as well.
Sorry it was long, but this amv really evoked a lot of thought on the whole series for me. It was well made, and the way it portrayed Yuri's career and emotions was well blended. It wasn't just about him and Victor, but also his challenges and transitions within his skating career.

Your comment was so good I happily read the whole thing. You mentioned some aspects I didn't notice in the Anime. In some ways I have a different look at it now. It's been a year or so since I watched the Anime, but I will do it again soon. I think it will be interesting with the different look at it I have now. In addition to the way I watched it before.
I cried so much!!!!!!! Just saw the final episode and man, it was the most beautiful thing I've seen since I watched Free! Starting Days!! It's nearly one in the morning and I couldn't stop bawling my eyes out! Yuri was so close! I think this couple is a Victurri itself, just look at how they turned out together! I seriously think they are going to do a season two! THEY HAVE TO!!
And I just have to say, when I saw your AMV it inspired me to try and create my own for these two!!
It's been such an adventure watching Yuri grow into a confident skater and I have to say I never imagined I would be so enchanted by skating! It's really cool to see other skaters from other countries as well! This just left me so breathless....*Gives you a hug* I know I don't know you in real life, but thanks so much for always editing these videos, they really changed my life, it's awesome to see someone so passionate about anime in general and you do a beautiful job with expressing love in any form, my friend. It really shows through every AMV you do!
Same though MY GOD it was just amazing. He really was so close ahaha the name of the song works god. There is for sure and it will be amazing Yurio, Yuuri and Victor in the grand prix PLEASE I hope you decide to they are amazing to edit my god. You can tell I love editing this show maybe more then SiH and that's reaaaaly saying something. I love the other skater too they are just amazing I found myself cheering for them all the same and feeling bad when they fell. *spoils ahead for anyone who has not seen episode 12 of yuri on ice!!!*
episode 12 had me by the throat and wouldnt let go (and i was at work when i watched both episode 12 and your amazing amv, so i had to hold my fangirl in!! im pretty sure that it wasn't health to hold all my feels back). Victor crying in the begining was heart breaking. Yuri's perfect and emotion filled free program performance!! Victor deciding return to ice skate. last but most definitely not least the ending credits when Yuri and Victor ice skated together, then yuri running towards victor, and the see you next level final screen!!!! i almost chocked on my drink and fell back on my chair!! lets just say episode 12 has drained my soul!! and the cherry on top was your beautiful amv!! yet again keep up the brilliant work!!
I knew I wanted this up after the anime finished I just had to. It gave me so many feels and I left this close to complete just to put the final episode in it. I was just shrieking so much from seeing Victor cry to when people fell or were doing amazing I'd cheer them on and Yurio beating Yuuri by .12 points AND THE PAIR SKATING I made an inhuman screech when Victor came on the ice. Season 2 gosh I can't wait I hope it isn't to long a wait so many people just love it to pieces. Thanks so much 8DD
MoonlitxShadows oh gosh yes!! like i said i was at work when i watch ep 12 so i mostly did small squeaky noises and was pounding on my table when all those scenes happened!! (AND ESPECIALLY THE PAIR SKATING SCENE). i swear the people around me probably thought i was having a heart attack (which probably was not too far from the truth!!!) and yes i hope season 2 is not to far from our reach!! looking forward to more of that in the future!!! thanks again!!!

the last episode had me in tears seeing viktor cry killed me i can't wait for the second season my heart it can only take so much
I don't cry from any of this stuff ever and I was almost tearing up haha.I saw a Yuri on Ice AMV to THIS song at an anime con, and it floored me. I had for a long time said I'd never "stoop" to the level of watching some dumb shit like Yuri on Ice. That day I laughed at the silly YOI posters and wondered who'd be such a fan of that anime. Well...I watched it after that AMV, I watched it twice, and am currently reading every fanfic out there and watching all the amvs I can find 😂 Screw it, YOI made me more emotional than any anime before and it's frickin beautiful in a number of ways. Can't believe I said that before, cause I'm winning now after see that 😍 Hell yes Yuri on Ice, hell ya to all the great characters, gorgeous animation and awesome skating routine AND FUCK yes to Victuuri 🔥😍!!! (Oh and awesome job editing, it's fantastic!)
