Control of Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) in rural Pakistan

Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) has severe negative socio-economic impacts on the income of livestock farmers and, in particular, the livelihoods and food security of the most vulnerable rural communities, especially of women. FAO, with support from UKAID, is providing high quality vaccines to the district livestock department in Tharparkar district of Pakistan with an aim to develop lifelong immunity in small ruminants against PPR.
