    Add content on where is the best place to order. Add all in ones shaft flights as well. It may be the future. They work fantastic.
    Which flights are best with what type of throw? That’s key.

    I used to throw soft tip darts in a league a while back and slim worked for me. Haven’t tried many flights with steel tip but want to get back into it

      Never played soft tip darts as only heard of it for the first time during the World Championship when the giant was playing and it was pointed out he was the multiple times ?8 or more time World Soft Tip Champion. Never knew it existed until then. Heard its played far more on the continent!

    I would say that moulded flights are only worth it, if you use some sort of Trident or Storm point.
    Otherwise they don’t last too long, but Tridents increase the life of the flights by at least a dozen times.

    Sorry. I am not familiar with "longer stems bigger flights".
    I've tested the Unicorn John Lowe Phase 2 (23 grams) with several stems and flights and in the end the things fly best with a long (48mm), small and light stem and pear flights.
    After that I've read that the Unicorn test lab for optimising darts recommends the checkout shaft (weight 1.1 grams and 50.5mm long) and xtra flights (pear shape).

    Good information apart from Robson's are not made by Bulls, only distributed in Europe by them. Robson is a company in the Philippines.

      I actually new that by though it would be easier for people to find the correct flight if surching to buy. 😀 its weird though I don't see why bull don't just make their own or buy them out. 🤷

    Thanks for the information. I use regular sized standard flights or standard #6. I've tried slim flights but had no success. Never used the pear or kite shape.

    Hi,
    First of all great content. I have looked every single video many times.
    I have a slow follow through and not a very hard throw. Whats the difference between the NO2 Standard Winmau and the NO2 Standard for example from Designa. Like shown in the Video they are the same length but at the outside a little Bit smaller.
    Same Stability but a little faster Movement through the Air? Ty!

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My opinion is that the winnmu is very slightly faster but not alot of difference. :)

    Yep back again STTP 🤣 , now I've used short stems for yrs & standard flights. After watching this I'm going to be giving the pear & kite ago . My dart land flat but I'm thinking with a pear or kite I'll get a bit more speed to the board.....less time in the air , I believe, help's with accuracy. Great vids , cheers 👍🎯🎯👍

    Hi, great videos.
    I'm always intrigued /a tad jealous of players that, when they release the dart, it leaves their hand perfectly horizontal and stays that way until it hits the board. How would I achieve this?
    Mine flop about like that Australian breakdancer 😂😂
    Cheers.

    Nice video. I use Cosmo flights, and the same set have lasted me months! Can't be doing faffing about with ordinary flights that continually break, tear, fall off, etc. Much prefer moulded these days! What part of Wales you from?

    4:00 What is your opinion on Lstyle flights? I haven’t heard a lot of bad things about those and I am curious if you had bad experiences with them?

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do like them, they look and feel nice but the cost is to heavy. I find even with trident 180's or specialist points I still go though them at the same rate at normal flights (2 or 3 sets a week). I found the longest lasting flight to be Robson flight but again I can go through these in a week. I currently use a std 75 micron pear flight 10 sets for £4 with postage. I come across an expensive flight that really helps me game I'll pay it but every about at the moment dosnt seem like good value to be. I found cosmo to be the worst for pear flights, the bottom splits in a few hours normally.
      With the Lstyle, I do like the steam design with the flight protection on it though, that's a brilliant idea to be fair 😀

    Are there any rules regarding the use of different shaped flights to normal shaped ones now? I ask as everyone I have watched in the World Championship has used a normal shaped flight, whereas I like to use a pear shaped flight myself!

      No mate. Steve Beaton uses a pear as well and he retired as opposed to being kicked out :D

      @Straightdarts  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No loads use pear and kite.
      Danny Nopert, Steve Beaton, William O'connor, Connor Scutt, Brandon Dolan and Andrew Guilding, all used pear or kite shape. :)

    • @markdermody9698
      @markdermody9698 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had only asked because all the players at the recent World Championships used normal shaped flights, not one used a 'Pear Or Kite Shaped One', hence the reason for my question. I always used Pear Shaped Flights for the sole reason that the darts appeared to fly truer with fewer distortions or deviations in flight and also there is less in the way of the subsequent arrows, darts, as they headed towards their target! Hope you all agree or if not then I would be interested in your opinions on the subject! Many thanks for your responses in the first instance too, thanks, Mark!

      @markdermody9698 loads used different flights, just off the top of my head I can think of 9 players.
      Bredon Dolan.
      Andrew Guilding.
      Connor Scutt.
      William O'connor.
      Kean Barry.
      Ryan Joyce.
      Steve Beaton.
      Peter Wright.
      Jenny Clayton.

      Must state too, that John Lowe also used Pear Shaped Flights, yet his were the original style feathered flights which always looked amazing and reduced the number of deflected darts thrown which, with the solid flights didn't allow any further darts to travel through them thus deflecting them, unlike the original 'Feather' style flights which allowed the points to travel through! Hope you are old enough to remember John Lowe, the first man to hit a televised '9 Dart Finish'! Also, if memory serves me right, it happened in the World Matchplay Championships too! I seem to remember Keith Deller (? The Then World Champion, which he won on his Debut in 1983) was the poor unsuspecting opposition at the time and it was an absolute sensation back in the day. Especially when you think about all the Darting Greats of that time period who had previously failed to hit those perfect 9 darts in a televised event! I don't really want to miss out someone big but there were the old greats such as Leighton 'Marathon Man' Rees (He was The Welsh Darting Wizard), then you have the diminutive John Thomas 'Jocky' Wilson. Then there was the person considered to be the ultimately the Undisputed Best Player in The World at the time as between 1980-1986 he won the World Title 5 Times - Eric 'The Crafty Cockney' Bristow, Bobby George (aka The King of Bling, Bobby Dazzler or Mr Glitter due to his great use of Rhinestones on his tops and all his Jewellery too), Bob Anderson (The Limestone Cowboy), Andy 'The Viking' Fordham and Steve 'The Bronze Adonis' Beaton, and of course, the new kid on the block, young 'Keith Deller' who had become the World Champion on his debut a couple of years earlier, if my memory serves me right!
      Hope these names create and generate some great memories for you all! I know they have done for me too, especially John Lowe as he was also my Grandma's favourite Dart Player at the time too as he was mine seeing as he was quite a local 'lad' seeing as he is from Derbyshire and I live in Nottingham!

      @Straightdarts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@klabund1807 that's a good weight to start at as its right in the middle.
      You'll find the lighter the dart the faster your arm needs to travel and the heavier the darts the softer you can throw it. :)

    Hello, how does height effect the flights I should use? I am 6 foot 5 and I found that using standard flights were floating too much for me, so I use Phil Taylor Style kite flights as they drop down quicker I feel. Is this all in my head or is there a real correlation between the flights and this?

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apologies I believe I did send a response to this but its not showing so sorry If you didn't receive it :) And no its not in your head, You height will have no effect but if your bigger its likely the added weight behind the dart from your arm. Andy Fordham had problems with it when he lost weight.
      Most people who are taller tend to use a small flight and short shaft, its something iv noticed.
      But their are always exceptions depending no who soft or hard you throw as well :)

      Do you mean short stems and small flights on a common 50mm type barrel or whatever length barrel? I'm tall and after all these years still learning I use McCoy's marksman 26g with medium stems and standard flights . I recently bought your darts and got the closest I've got to hitting 180 with two in the T20 and robin hooded my last dart!

    I always wonder how Brendan dolan gets his darts to land up with those kite flights 🤔

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He flicks the darts on release, nearly every player with a front grip that makes there darts land up dose it. It's really difficult to teach but it's a case of griping and flicking the point up as you throw. :)
