  • Matt Watson & a band of Wellingtonian fishermen strike it lucky this week, finding themselves up to their ears in puka in the midst of a calm Cook Strait. After a bit of a steam further south, the lads next sample the best on offer in magnificent Marlborough Sounds, where scallops and blue cod are on the menu.

I used to live in Blenheim for the first 15 years of my life, Marlborough sounds was my favorite place in the world for fishing, probably still is. This brings back so many memories, pretty sure I stayed at furneux lodge also 😁😁

Very nice vid, but I always feel a bit weird to see you guys harvesting lobsters with tanks, it's a bit of a shame even though it is permitted in NZ, but anyways, Matt you are a legend!

This is a classic episode and times have changed. We certainly wouldn't use a dredge now.

I liked the video but it was a real shame to see you dredging for scallops. Diving on them would have been alot better for the environment plus made for better footage

Yip totally agree, this was a classic episode and filmed over a decade ago.

Seriously though electronic winch 🙄🙄 that's not fishing doesn't deserve air time. I'm guessing he uses dynamite for the estuary 🤣😂🤣
