    How did you dismember it?

Hello, I have a Dell 1320c Laser printer. The black toner began coming out like a dark magenta for some reason. I completely cleaned out the black toner waste hopper or toner reservoir (I'm not sure which) because it was completely full. After cleaning it, I installed a brand new black cartridge but now it's no longer printing black toner. If it was the toner reservoir, did I ruin it by cleaning it out or does the reservoir just need to become full again before it starts printing again?
I made sure to reassemble the hopper or reservoir exactly how it was using photos I took when I disassemble it.
    Thanks for your time.

So.... what can we, should we do about it? Assume disassembling and emptying the waste hopper isn't good, or is it?

Can you tell me if printing a normal business letter with all black lettering except for a blue signature line will cause the waste hopper to fill more quickly? That is what I was told by the guy where I buy my refilled toner cartridges. The printer is a Canon Mf8580cdw. I started get streaking down the side of the page like in your video after only about 200-250 letters printed.

Each model is different. Some are more effient than others. The small the cartridge the more likely it will fill faster
