- It's been a while since my last upload, but now I'm back again!
This time I have something little more special for you all! In other words I mean Lufthansa Cargo's MD-11F [D-ALCN], which is also the very last MD-11 ever rolled out from the McDonnell Douglas production line.
This video contains footage from landing, taxiing and takeoff, but also some close-up shots at the cargo stand.
This beauty visited Helsinki Airport on the April 12th. It came from Chicago O'Hare and had a two hour stop here. After that it continued to it's own hub and final destination, Frankfurt.
D-ALCN rolled out from the McDonnell Douglas production line on the September 14th, 2000. It was delivered to Lufthansa Cargo on the January 25th, 2001. That makes it already 13.6 years old, but it holds the title of the youngest MD-11 flying in the skies today.
Video information
Airline: Lufthansa Cargo
Airplane: McDonnel Douglas MD-11F
Reg: D-ALCN
Notes: last MD-11 built
Route: Chicago O'Hare - Helsinki - Frankfurt

The DC-10/MD-11 were always my favourite passenger choices .
Was brought up on 3 engine types as worked on the Trident (all variants) in BEA/BA.
Interesting career from Viscounts to Concorde with Boeings and Airbus also.
Too bad the industry is in such turmoil.
Can't wait to get back in the air and pick up the latest types I have not yet flown on.
Thanks for this blast from the past. I worked at the Long Beach CA plant where this MD-11 was assembled. We installed the sub assembly's in the nose section prior to being joined to the fuselage. We knew we were building an awesome aircraft.
The eleven is by far an awesome aircraft 😍. Tell us more about your impressions pls.
The most beautiful plane ever made
Majestic, imposing, beautiful, perfect!! A rare gem among moderns!!
Best plane of the century !!!
That thing was climbing like a beast after takeoff, then it just disappeared into the clouds....pretty awesome!
Great to see this historic MD-11-awesome vortices! Liked, and glad you are back:)
Thank you so much for stopping by and supporting my channel! And sorry about the late reply, but I just came from Heathrow where I did some plane spotting! :)

True! This is one amazing looking MD-11! Thanks for Watching!
they really are a legend , go MD 11 .
Das ist die beste MD11F.... es ist die Letzte, die überhaupt gebaut wurde!!!!! Seriennummer 48806, Deutsche Kennung D-ALCN
Awesome. Definitely one of the best looking MD-11's in the skies. Great job capturing its visit to EFHK. :-)
Thanks a lot! I totally agree! Lufthansa's livery and MD-11 is a great combination! :)
Very nice capured MD-11. Great job. :-)
Thanks a lot! Much appreciated :)
I'm watching this in complete amazement! Lufthansa Cargo operating nothing BUT MD-11F's! I noticed some windows covered up in its fuselage, making me wonder is that a converted MD-11 freighter from its long beach plant? or am I being just foolish?
Nope it was allways a freigther. The MD-11 freigther has the windows to be easily converted to pax, Only 5 LH Cargo MD-11 were converted from pax to freighter and they are allready withdrawal from service. Also LH Cargo Operates 5 B777F since 6 years
Woow! Very nice MD-11 special. Beautiful footage!!
Wow! Thank you so much for that great comment and subbing my channel! :)
I wish I can fly in one of those aircraft before they disappear is a beauty plane ✈️
End of an era.
Very cinematic filming style and quality - hienosti filmimäinen vaikutelma.
Saying goodbye to the sexiest aircraft ever built!!!
Until UPS just bought her.
When you're landing at Helsinki airport it seems that there's always croswind. At least the times I've been on the plane. lol.
Mahtava video! :)
Minä rakastan niin paljon md 11 koneita. Harmi, että niitä ei ole enään paljooo olemassa. :(
Fantastic video, great aircraft, filming and quality! I liked and subscribed!
Thank you so much for your great feedback and supporting my channel! I'm very glad you enjoyed! :)
I have spent many hours in this model, but
have never flew in one. Another item on my
bucket list. Perhaps 447.

Gorgeous. Nice video
One of the prettiest birds. Too bad it wasn't a seller.
Fantastic friend
Nice video Thanks💖
AWESOME!!!!!!! :D
THANKS MAN!!! :D
Pretty new can still have another 10-15 years of operational service left
Hyvää video!
Kiitos paljon!
Wow, filmed from 3 different sides of the airport it seems?
Lensin New Yorkiin ja takaisin Helsinkiin 90-luvun alkupuolella. Kone oli MD-11 ja helkutin hyvä kone olikin :)
The center engine, the one in the tail, does it have as much thrust as the wing engines or more....it looks bigger to me?
They are all actually the same size. The number two engine looks larger because the engine intake duct is longer... The engine itself is identical to the other two.
Wind = noise = negative
No tuve la suerte , de volar el MD-11, volé en casi todos,me hubiese, gustado haber volado en el MD11.
The MD-11 was just as dangerous as the DC10 to fly in. Especially in cross winds.
It depends on pilots ✌
Was it not the md-11 that had a turbine failure and crash landed so many years ago with loss of life?
dc 10
Beautiful aircraft new version must be launch by Boeing
Very unlikely to happen though, as they have the 777
The most beautiful plane ever made
Tri-jets are obsolete. Not as efficient as the twins you see today.
