    The top microphone isn't shown to be removed in this video but you'll need to do that as well. It's held in place with some adhesive but pretty easy to remove.

    IMPORTANT... Be careful of the orientation switch at 1:28. You want to make sure you open from the correct side.

    Just so everyone knows:
    You can STOP before step 4. Removal of the battery is NOT NECESSARY. Remove the screen the same way you would have in their Pixel 3 DIY. Place screen and then do everything from motherboard removal backwards and you're done.

      How did you remove the screen? in the Pixel 3 video, it says "just break and clean away the old screen". However, they don't show how to do it. I am scared of damaging the phone worse without proper guidance.

    • @GohanBurner
      @GohanBurner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sinanegilmez you literally break the screen. Put a razer between the body and glass and peel it away. The screen itself under the glass is very flexible and glued so you peel that away as well. The glass will likely pull away in one piece.

    You do not need to remove the whole motherboard or the battery. Remove the screen but leave the connector. Remove the back and only remove the bar on the right (4 screws) exposing the cables below the bar. Disconnect all the cables including the LCD cable. Then with a plastic spludger pry up the motherboard from the bottom right corner and remove the screen cable from the front. Reverse. You are going to need the correct glue and remove the old glue to maintain the waterproofness. You can buy a patterned sticker for the front and a new whole back but I don't know how well they keep out water. If you're going to pay someone best get a new battery atthe same time.

    Attention: This guide seems to be made for those who bought a display unit with frame!!! Those like me who bought just the display may stop disassembling right after removing the motherboard at step 3! Continue replacing the old display with the new one! Be careful: There are some long screws and some short ones. Keep in mind what places they had!
    For most people - like me - it should be enough to replace just the broken front glass for only a few bucks and fix the new one with Loca glew and UV light in minutes instead of hours! But I haven´t seen a guide here for Pixel owners!

    you don't need to remove all this bullshit, just the front and back and the right side metal bracket on the back, a slight pressure from the front on the motherboard allows you to slip the screen cable in.
