People need to know anytime you open wax the odds of you making money is slim to none. There’s a big misconception with newcomers coming into the hobby thinking you NEED to open packs to make $. It just won’t happen 90% of the time

Don’t forget to deduct your selling fees on eBay. At least it’s a tax loss because next year eBay is required to send 1099s to everyone who sells more than $600!

Actually it’s slowly getting back to as big as it was. Slowly but surely. The pandemic is really helping the sports cards collectors like myself. Just like how Pokémon is going up also but those Pokémon’s are money wasters unless you get those few Charizards lol 😂 But sports cards are starting to leave shelves more then ever now. When I started there were packs and boxes on the shelves more then what I wanted to get but when I went back in 3 days everything was gone lol 😂 I was pissed but that’s the game. So now when I see packs and boxes on the shelves I get as much as I can while not breaking the budget lol
I'd compare the current sales on Ebay for the 8/9/10s - amazing how much more value a Mint 10 will bring over a 9...double/triple the value if not more. Can't hurt to wait a year or two to fully know if the player becomes are 'sure-thing' - but grading seems to have become necessary for highly desired cards.

This simple economics. If we could make a "profit" from every box..or even 50% of the boxes...the manufactures would raise the price. They only make money by producing more cards.
@@juanpovalle5063 I think cards are way over priced in my opinion.Optic cards are hot now because thats what is being released.For example,I pulled a zion silver mojo and Ja Morant purple disco from nba hoops premium stock when it was being released and they were selling on ebay for around 300 to 400 each and now I would be lucky to get 100 a piece.Now your card is numbered so not many printed so thats your advantage.If you dont need the cash and you are a collector get it graded and wait it out,but Burrow is not a sure thing,who knows what he will become.I would sell as is buy an already graded card of a young proven star and put some money in the bank.You have to decide whats best.

I’m starting to legit think there is an inside job within the employees and vendors. Every time I go and they can’t tell me anything or that the “vendor didn’t come in today” I’m so close to just cussing them out. That’s how toxic this whole situation the hobby is in right now.
@@originalkama i definitely think that's the case in some situations. If a vendor actually stocks, they need to unwrap the case out of its plastic wrap. I consistently see sealed retail cases in ebay and mercari and I know for a fact that stuff never made it to the floor. I only know because I've caught the vendor at my walmart a few times and he's shared information with me like that. At both my walmart and target they are now being allocated product because like I said, I live in a smaller market. Target employees where I live have been great. A few have even saved me a box or two from time to time knowing I'd be in to check. I make friendly conversation often. Walmart is a crap shoot. The only thing I know the guy does there is change his days he stocks to give everyone a chance. Either way, whoever sees it first buys the whole damn lot and it's frustrating. Ive been collecting way too long, to get shut out by these band wagon a hold. Like you, it's getting harder and harder to stay engaged. I hope the people who scoop up full shelves eventually get stuck with product they can't sell for profit.

That Mega was pretty bad. The odds are you'll do much better with the next one. I've found 6 Target Megas and only opened 2. I hit very well in both of my rips. Hurts Silver, Tua Bronze, Love Silver, Tua Base, Mahomes Silver, and Devarnay Auto. That's like 260 or so raw right there and I purchased those at retail. So I'm up 160. If I sold both boxes, I'd have made 340-50 with ebay fees/taxes which is 290. If I grade those cards, my profits would quadruple, but I'd have to wait a yr, lol. Point is, only rip like 30% of what u buy. Add everything up and consider getting the good hits graded. Then sit on 30% of the product to invest. Then go ahead and resell 40% right away to make your profits to rinse and repeat. Or do what u want
You're falling into the gamblers fallacy with this logic, that's not good lol. Just because the first investment turns out to be poor, doesnt mean you double dip into the same loss, because you think it cant happen again. If you had bought your items at resale like 90% of the population you would understand that Edit: nvm, its impossible to find any mega boxes at retail your logic doesnt work unless you live in target

You want to make your money back but don’t want to put in the effort to sell everything you dont want keep for a PC. You have to sell it all to do that. List it all & it will sell. With the new standard envelope shipping no one wants to pay 4.45 shipping cost 4.99 free shipping it costs a mere .75 to ship a card

The answer is a big NO. You can get lucky and rip a box with monster hits but 95% of the time, you will lose $. Especially if you buy these boxes at resell

It's a hit or miss on pricing in my book. But that Calvin Ridley card looks nice. How much you charge for a hanger box or a team buy in
every single break I run is different I feel like depends how much product but team breaks usually $35-50

Sell it prices are dropping by the minute and I think cards are over valued. I've pulled a few good cards but glad that I didn't pay flipper prices.
