I did 3 hours to find this song. I went thru all of their albums and at the end I borrowed someone's phone and used Shazam. I wish I had used Shazam earlier but at least one thing is for sure. I found the song.
i like there old few a lot more but they had to update to keep up with the times but i love em still they r legends still in my eyes and i love what they did and the whole of boot camp did for hip hop much respect.
I think people are a bit confused about what's going on here. Firstly, the Beat is NICE Secondly, Bleek's verse adds to it well whilst Tek & Steel are just trying a to do a smooth song. So in general, there is NOTHING poor (or POP) about this track. So why people are asking "where the Grimy bars at..." can't actually be listening to the theme or the track right. How you gonna go HARDCORE on something this smooth?!? Oh I get it, give it to someone else or never hear the track at all... Grow up people, it is still Hip Hop
Now that I listen to it now I like it more but only because for the past year I've been listening to nothing but Memphis bleek and when I reviewed this again he still had a good portion of his flow. Smif n wessun are off though.. All I was saying is that everyone is fans of smif n Wess cause of their grimey 90's Brooklyn attitude that was shown on albums like dah shinin, enta da stage etc.. And for this to be produced by Pete Rock man come on... This isn't a real representation of the Pete rock I know, the Pete Rock that competes day in and out with dj premier. That's who they really needed on this shit, dj premier, jay z to ghost write for bleek and smif n Wess and an actual pistol whipping from a smith and Wesson. Its facts that they're hard knock attitude fell off cause they haven't been in the hood for the past 20 years wtf you expect. Bleek also been having 'his mind right' since jayz bought him 15 homes in new jersey away from the jetties
The1RealOne Yo even with no grimey bars delivery wise they all made it hard over the drop of the beat fuck the haters that's why this has the views it does but these motherfuckers got a dedicated fanbase
i got love for the WHOLE click, i grew up on da shinin, but i got let smiff n wessun dat they dont move me or inspire me NO MORE, i dont know what it is.... life must be good and dats peace and im happy for em, cuz the dudes lost their edge, the stuff ain hard no more, and i still got mad love for em, i hope they read this too, maybe they will get the boom BAP back in their spirit, but DAMN it aint the same
these 3 brothers rhyme as tight on this as i ever heard. i like how Pete cuts up the sample (dont know what it is) & i like how he lays the drums different between the verses & chorus. the ONLY problem i have with this & basically the ENTIRE album is the sound quality. shit sounds like it was recorded from vinyl. parts of the music just dont come out clear like a beat from PETE ROCK should.
I'm glad someone acknowledged this, it's the same for their debut IMHO I think it's bc they're on an independent label which means they don't have enough $ for quality recording equipment
get the NEW @VvsVerbal+Soul Food Shack+on BuckTownUSA Feat Smif N Wessun,Jewels,Guappy beats by crazy dj bazarro, wayne ski,Shawde Banx & more JUST DROP 9/5/2012
Man Smif n Wessun lost they hood touch.. The new music they produce needs that boom bap shit back in it, fuck that new flow shit. All your fans are because of dah shinin, we need more shit like that album this shit week even with Memphis bleek smh.. Brooklyn soft as fuck now, the thugs from the 90's locked away doing a hot minute now the streets is weak
Morn Wood they just less hungry can hear it in the bars. look they already blew up they are just keeping it moving and the cash stackin. and they still sound nice they didn't loose it that much they're just older. bars get weaker after you've been in the game for over 20 years let's be real there's only so much you can say. tek honestly keeps the bars simple know steele stills goes pretty hard
This is what HipHip was transitioning into until Cartoon rappers took over the industry with their lollipop music. But these guys are known rappers thats trying to keep it alive while younger rappers are doing that fruity music. At the end of the day this sound will and eventually die off when these rappers cease to exist any longer. Meaning hiphop will die when those old rappers die. All good things will die just look at rock n roll.
