This is the most on-pitch brass orchestra I think I've ever heard. This is something that seems to set the perfect pitch brass ensembles apart from the just pretty good brass ensembles where you can hear a *little* bit of what I would call "warbling" between horns that are close, but not quite playing the same pitch. A high school band would be a very extreme case of this- you know how they typically sound- quite sour, but that's an extreme case. This Barclay Brass is the other extreme- perfectly smooth. Price deserves no less.
I’ve been out of the loop for a while fighting medical maladies, but am now catching up on my TH-cam listening. First stop: Barclay Brass, of course! I see some new faces, as well as familiar ones, but one thing hasn't changed and that is the superb musicianship. Shoutout to Dave Miller for yet another fine arrangement.
They're ALL outstanding! All perfectly on pitch and meter. I don't think I've ever heard such a perfectly cohesive ensemble- such a beautiful, smooth sound.
This feels like the conclusion to an age old family rivalry. Where instead of continuing to fight, the two remaining members of both families understand the pointlessness of the battle. So they decide to rest, and build a family of their own.
Thank you, Florence Price and the Barclay Brass of for the gift of 3:57 minutes of beautiful, thoughtful music.
I feel like I’m in heaven 😍

So serene
Thanks for bringing us less known music, set and performed to its best advantage.

Nice to see you back online, and I hope you're on the mend!
Beautiful arrangement! Would love to hear it scored for British brass band.
Wow, Amy’s flugel tone is stunning.
