4:30 Note about Salvo: If you read the oc stats carefully, you see that the downside is that _salvo_ rockets do not have guidance. But regular rockets do! So it you tap fire shooting only one rocket at a time, it's like you're not even using an oc to begin with. So despite it's label of unstable, it works very much like a clean in pratice.
I personally see the guidance of the rockets on the Hurricane as default a downside. Can't wait to try out the OC that removes it, although the RoF decrease is very saddening.
Ill also add that whilst clean overclocks generally are small improvements, much more like a mod, there are some that actually change the behaviour of the gun, much like unstable overclocks normally do. The shotgun blast OC and hoverclock come to mind
There's one unstable overclock that's literally just the best, the overcharger for the shard defractor, literally pressing reload while firing doubles it's damage and drain speed, but if you don't press the reload it's just a normal shard defractor literally broken IN TERMS of unstables
Also side note: If you gotten ALL the overclocks and cosmetics, the game will just grant you Ores as the reward or credits. My favorite one is the Hover ability for the Scout's sniper weapon. I can't go without it! It has so much utility use with being able to stop and hover in mid air for a short time. It's honestly My favorite overclock I've used on a class. I also like to do a large jump fly into the air and snipe those bugs at a distance, so much fun!
One of my first overclock is still one of my favorites, Return to Sender for the Breach Cutter. At the cost of some ammo when you release the fire button the plasma stream comes back if it hasn't gone too far. Great for large swarms, Praetorians, Oppressors, and some Dreadnaughts.
@@Bence3 ehhhh... it's fun, but theres never a swarm that big, base gl is better (especially for lower ammo cost and less team kill potential) but i prefer hyperpropellant because explosive chemical rounds do good enough swarm clear and single target
My first unstable Overclock was Hyperpropellant, basically makes the grenade launcher into an elephant gun for massive single target damage. I just put it with a stubby SMG and shredders, so I have options for swarms. Works great on Industrial Sabotage especially, but really seems to work on any mission.
many of the unstable overclocks feel more like balanced ones, over actually taking something from the weapon. the salvo module that was mentioned in the video is one of them. i think that the minelayer overclock, which is labeled as balanced, should be labeled unstable, due to it removing the ability to guide rockets.
Here are some things I wanna explain in my words (really unnecessary but anyways): 2:02 - I summarize the entire explanation by saying that clean overclocks are technically Tier 6 upgrades 4:30 - Salvo module it's (I think) the only unstable without an actual penalty becuase the no guidance penalty only applies to the salvo rockets since you can still shoot normal rockets by tap firing (oh wait it means that the penalty is that the weapon is no longer automatic lol)
Unless it halves your ammo or damage most Unstables aren't as scary as they seem. Even then just putting mods to bring your stats back usually leaves you better off then overclockless. If you happen to be watching other people play don't just copy the build without understanding why they are using what they are using. Some mods are generally good and used on all OCs but other mods depend on secondaries or a particular element. Also very good explanation of DDs. Always try the EDD, mostly I die on the last one (5.5) and that gets you a blank and weapon core. If you go with 4 people bring some aoe otherwise slasher and guard swarms will drain too much ammo.
That event-cube-blank core-thing tip is super useful because I had been doing a ton of those events but didn’t you had to claim it to get any reward. Will look out for it later.
I think that you mentioned a very important tip here. Start off with green, experiment (and probably eventually settle) on yellow, and have one or two red builds for specific missions.
I have been adding videos to a "DRG to watch" playlist. I was going down your channel to add videos, and I basically was interested in every single video. I'm definitely subbed now.

Red OCs USUALLY have penalties or changes to the weapon that require fine tuning your build or playstyle, but a FEW are basically Green OCs with Red tier bonuses. Most noticeable are SD Overcharger and Hurricane's Salvo Module, since their main gimmicks have CONDITIONAL ASPECTS (Overcharger is just a basic SD until you decide to activate it by pressing reload while firing; Salvo only cuts guided missiles if you keep the fire button pressed to charge the salvo attack) that makes them practically just a base gun with a red tier gimmick ready at any time. Yellow ones are the ones you HAVE to pay close attention to, because they sometimes AFFECT HOW you SHOULD USE the weapon despite the core features of the gun itself not changing (Hurricane's PBM for example, they act more like guided killer bees than missiles, so the way you use them via guidance changes drastically) much if at all. Notorious examples: PBM (as said above); ECR (LOK-1 explosive bullets); Hipster (M1K); Volatile impact mix and Disperser compound; Combat Mobility (Autocannon); Minelayer System; Rewiring mod (DRAK plasma rifle); All these drastically change HOW you should use the weapon those OCs are for, and they're YELLOW. Yellow and Red OCs have to be CAREFULY STUDIED since sometimes a Red can easily be kept on your weapon because there's NO DEMERITS if you don't choose to use its features, while some Yellow OCs have to be BUILT with the build itself. So my summarized take: Green OCs are basically an extra that can be used for any purpose just like an extra mod tier. Yellow and Red OCs you use with suggested builds to TEST them first, then once you understand the game and OCs more, start doing your own Builds.

Thanks! My main question was what the heck do I do with a core infuser when the machine event is done. If I had any blank matrix cores I would have known. Thanks for the tips! I’m working on breach the core right now
If you cancel the weekly overclock mission after you collect the overclock you can redo the mission over and over again so long as you don't collect the cosmetic core

In the event you get everything. The matrix that you would get will now be resources. So at that point save for the event of us getting new weapon's. You never know now of days
So thats why people focus more on machine events than the mission The overclock fuser How you use that? How to bring the empty overclock to the mission? Can you fuse all your empty one at one machine events? If mission failed after you infuse will you lose all your overclock?
you simply have all cores on you at all times so if you don't have any blank ones you cant infuse them. also you can only fuse one blank core per machine event. lastly if you infuse a core and then fail or leave i believe you do still have it.
If I do a side quest (don’t know the proper word for them. Stuff like tritilyte depositing, pickaxe boosting, etc) and spend a matrix core to unlock an overclock, do I need to spend an extra one at the forge to own it?
So here’s a question for you. Is it normal for you to collect cores, both cosmetic and overclock, for the classes you aren’t playing? I play Gunner, and only Gunner. I’ve gotten a little over 14 different cores, mostly cosmetics for Engie, and not gotten a single Gunner related core. Is that sort of luck normal or am I supposed to be getting Gunner cores by playing on a different class?

I would imagine Blue Overclocks being called "Cross Overclocks". They would sacrifice capability of the weapon they are installed on... To give benefits to something unrelated to the overclocked weapon. For instance, it could improve base health/shield/speed/jump stats, other weapons/tools, pickaxe stats, basic flare stats, resistance to specific damage types, and benefit ratios from mining specific resources even. The purpose of Cross Overclocks would be specialization... So they would be related to what each Class does and improving those roles at the expense of Primary/Secondary combat power. For instance, the Gunner could have a Cross Overclocks for his Gatling/Minigun: Shield Alternator - Sacrifices the speed at which the gun spins up/stabilizes for a boost to shield regeneration while the gun is spinning. Obviously, giving up DPS would need to result in considerably improved tankiness, so the max shield might be increased as well. This would allow gunners to tank more damage.
Another aspect for a Cross Overclock like Shield Alternator is that it might circumvent certain mission mutators: Shield Disruption prevents most players from having shields, but the alternator might allow the shield to run as long as the gun is spinning. This would let the gunner get the shield, but also shield break mods from his armor and become a real menace in CQC. Another Cross Overclock might give the Scout a Pheromone Emitter that gives him stronger aggro (longer ranged) than normal. This would allow the scout to more effectively kite enemies. It could even be targeted towards larger enemies so the scout could focus on distraction of heavy hitters. As to what the scout would need to give up for this, I am not sure... Although using an overclock slot for it might already be considered a sacrifice.
Been dabbling in unstable overclocks lately and my absolute fave at the moment is the Explosive Reload for Scout's Zhukov. I just enjoy the feeling of instantly bursting down enemies with one clip or embedding enough bullets with Born Ready to make 'em explode all at once for a massive nuke. Is it practical and efficient? Prolly not. Best build? Not sure. Fun? HECK YEAH! Rock and Stone!
Overclocks are way to hard to get. The game has some very cool overclocks but unless you play all the time you will not see most of them before you grow tired of the game and move on.

My second deep dive was elite, it was fun but I think I was lucky
only 10% are subbed to you watching and 90% aren't.... creepy
Chapters would help, good video though 💜
Just got my first overclock and it was fat boy
NIICCEEE!
I'm sorry, bro, but every time i see your logo in the intro i think it's a nutsack. Great videos though!
Prolly not. Best build? Not sure. Fun? HECK YEAH! Rock and Stone!
what the hell is a blank core!!!!
Overclocks are way to hard to get. The game has some very cool overclocks but unless you play all the time you will not see most of them before you grow tired of the game and move on.
you are right, that's why this game is the only game i've ever used save-scumming.
Minors?!!!
