- In this week’s edition of the virtual Dreger Café, Darren Dreger talks to Sidney Crosby about life in isolation, thoughts on a potential 24-team playoff format, the mere moments before his Golden Goal at the 2010 Olympics, his reaction to the tragedy in his home province of Nova Scotia, and the 1987 Canada Cup that recently aired on TSN.

HERE IS MY PLAYOFF FORMAT:
Top 4 teams get a buy.
That is their reward. They each play 1 game against the other 3 in a
total goals scored 3 game series. They
are then ranked seeds 1-4.
The next 16 teams meet in round 1 in a best of 5
series. The higher placed team is
awarded game 1 by default. That is their
reward; so only 4 games are played. The
higher team must win 2 of the remaining 4 games to advance whereas the lower
needs 3 of 4.
The lowest 8 is rewarded by simply having a a playoff berth
assigned which they otherwise would not have. THIS is fair for all 3 tiers.
After round 1, rank them 1-8 in each conference and have 1
play 8, 2 play 7 etc. THIS format is
fair for all teams.

MLS is coming back in June, soccer is back in europe, the nba is almost back. More than half the league made it anyways. And the playoffs are still only 16 teams. The play in round is just to determine who makes the playoffs
