Hi Ben, It is good to start building up some sort of castle defenses before you run out of protection. Try to have some sort of stone wall. I would wait till you are a little higher in level before you commit to a defence like this, you need to be producing a lot of stone and when you first start out, that stone can be use better else where.
Good design, it is funny though H9 on World 5 all has the same exact castle you built, I thought they figured it out on their own, it seems they looked at your video though. To all that don't want to copy this exactly, remember that this is just a design. You can always put your own flair onto your castle. I think most important is where the sally forth comes out. Great advice.
Click the vassal village first, not your own. This brings up the vassal-only options, including Manage Vassal Troops, which is where you send Vassal Support. Which, unlike reinforcements, cannot be recovered once they arrive. (nb: I've had reinforcements show up loose on the map after the castle they were reinforcing was razed...)
If you are making a parish castle, you can build the pots, delete smelters and pots stay.. parishs aren't attacked as much so it is better to do this with parish. This way you have the pots up for emergancy, or even put the pots on the inside so they don't dump until you really want them to. Remember that the smelters die really easily and can be attacked by ground troops, so they are highly ineffective at slowing down attackers.
Ey, i have seen ppl building moats between the towers on the white line to fil the gaps instead of walls? they tell me its also better for pillaging attacks since cats cant hit the moats. What do u think about it? are the walls still a better option or should we fill it with moats
uh oh is there a difference? yea i am sending them as reinforcements i click my village then click the green army icon - then it says click target to reinforce then i click my vassals vill
Thank you, If there is anything you need, my in-game name is Dru. and i am in all game worlds. Additionally, are there any other aspects of the game that you wish could be explained through video like this?
You want towers cheek by jowl along the white line since troops don't attack them. You'll need moat or stone between them because the towers can't be immediately ajacent, but you want to minimize this to cut down on the cost of repairs after attacks -- let the attacking troops twiddle their thumbs while lined up rather than give them something to dig at. Use stone in the corners, moat mid wall where the cats hit, assuming you've got the gold that moat costs and stone doesn't.
theres something wrong with my food rations i produce over 35k food but everytime i put it on 1 ration or up to 4 it acts like i dont have enough food so the popularity number goes down like i dont kno what to do
Hi there! I was wondering if you can tell me if there is a strength difference between small towers and large/ great towers because in the help section it only says small, large and great towers are stronger than the lookout towers and stone walls, but not stronger than their predecessors. I am reffering to the number of catapult shots needed to kill each tipe of tower. Thanks if you read/ answer this. Peace!
+Vengeful Soresu Generally in games like these, the larger the wall or tower, the stronger it is because it simply has more 'health' than it's smaller predecessors. Not sure if this applies in Stronghold Kingdoms, because I only played Stronghold Crusades and Stronghold Legends, along with the original Stronghold game.
hey there im working on my castle and putting wall here n there, but would like to move a wall(s) how do i move it ? All i can do is deleted it and it cost me afew $$$.
So, I'm on my third day, focusing on mostly research, and my village, before my peace buff runs out, I want to get a few archers on my towers so that I don't get bullied to the point where I have to restart, since I just reached rank 8. One quick question, are gates actually important, or can I just remove them and replace 'em with stone in between 2 layers of wooden walls?
im havin a problem and no one helps me cuz they dont kno either cuz im noob world 8 - im sending troops to my vassal - then once they get there i click on my vassals vill to send them out to attack a wolf lair but the amount of troops is the same as before i sent the troops- ill wait a few sec or min but the amount will still be the same - wtf?
No, you can still win and be successful without paying. While it makes it easier to rank up, quickness in such tasks make you not well versed in those areas. Having to rebuild from being destroyed, you learn more than being on top and not being attacked. Money helps you grow, but you fall even quicker. Look at world 6, the top ranked money player recently was destroyed because he was only good at paying for castles and ranks.
The best defense against AI attacks is Diplomacy. You get exactly as much honour for talking the enemy out of attacking you as from annihilating the attack. EXACTLY as much, with no wear and tear. And when the Wolf shows up with 600 troops and CATS you'll want max ballistas, Sally, and peasants-in-a-box ("tunnels") to minimize the damage.
The castle design doesn't take advantage of the fact that it is a Highlands villa The rocks mean that the left corner cannot be attacked by troops and the towers there are a waste of invulnerable space.
...and when I say "stone in the corners" I mean as mortar between the towers, which should butt up directly against the white line. Again, don't any more than necessary expose moat or wall to abrasion by attacking troops.
Well, you can take some advice from him and say the corners aren't going to be attacked so you can skimp on defenses in the corners (smaller towers) and all you really need is the core and the outer wall. and of course the perserverance to build a new city when this one falls. Seriously Small towers, quick, easy enough to place archers on, and bottleneck opponents. a double row of lookout towers in the corners. cheap. breakable. but cheap.
Actually I blocked out the amount of cards I have because I was actively in a war at that time and the amount of cards you have affect the way others attack you in game. Not knowing that number makes it seem like you have more, which is good for you. At the time of making this video I had roughly 300 or so. You can tell by the scrollbar to the right when i first click on cards. Pay2win, no. Pay2grow, yes. But it only allows you to grow faster. Not better.
That is not good advice. My parishes are attacked more than my castles because of gold raids and such. Keep smelters but put them only around the inside of your castle. Moats on the outside with alternating moat and stone wall (to hold the oil pots). You can and will need to replenish oil pots inbetween attacks if and when they send multiple attacks. Pots are essential for defending your parish castle.
Haven't you been reset a few times and even now STILL don't have a village? Good luck in the future but if you are flyin, you have no right to judge anyone. :)
Maybe they don't help you because they figure that if you can't be bothered to spell or use English grammar they see no need to take the trouble to help you.
Hey if anyone is looking for a friendly, helpful faction to join, consider joining England World 2 and spawning in Inverness-Shire, Scotland. I'll help out anyone who's willing to grow and be active
i love when you dont hide Your FP amount and you hide your cards xD

Very valuable video. I am a newbie, an found it very helpful.
ty for al the videos dru, we all appreciate it much =)

Thanks for the great videos. I subscribed!

Can you make a video showing this design being attacked? Would be nice to see how it does.
For me, this is one the bests structures that I see :)
Lord Matheus IV
maybe a video about ur opinion to what kind of region the village should be turned (forest, mountains, river etc.)

Maybe u could make a vid about the current war? and stuffs ... or u can make a series of u doing tutorials.

all hail the castle of awesomeness
How do reinforcements work? Can you place down as many troops as you want depending on if you have armor and weapons?
uh oh is there a difference? yea i am sending them as reinforcements i click my village then click the green army icon - then it says click target to reinforce then i click my vassals vill
Love the game of thrones music in the background.
What do you have to research (vaults?) to make your castle that big? Im not talking about walls and tower, just the actual castle.
Thank you, If there is anything you need, my in-game name is Dru. and i am in all game worlds.
Additionally, are there any other aspects of the game that you wish could be explained through video like this?
CAN you make videos how to place troops on CASTLE tower
Nice tutorial!
It may just be lag but are you sure you are sending them as vassal troops or are you mistakenly sending them as reinforcements?

any idea what the firing range is of the turrets?
what is the range of an archer on a wall compared to on a tower?
O.o your suff im still viscount on world 4 you are amazing
my castle design is very similar exept my moat its on the edge so that catapults at the back of the corner have a hard tim hitting towers
theres something wrong with my food rations i produce over 35k food but everytime i put it on 1 ration or up to 4 it acts like i dont have enough food so the popularity number goes down like i dont kno what to do
I wanna see the SHK community active!
why are there captains in the keep?
where do you buy the cards at??
do i fill the left moat with oil pots too or should it stay empty
fill it

you cannot move it
that not good - so another word if you make a mistake then delet it and lose $$$. ? thanks
Dale Masyk no it doesn't cost $$$.. You get your stone back if its a mistake

Love this game, I'm a noob but i'm catching on.
Ok, how do you use bandicam without the watermark
when i recriut archers i can pot only 20 archers why ?
im havin a problem and no one helps me cuz they dont kno either cuz im noob world 8 - im sending troops to my vassal - then once they get there i click on my vassals vill to send them out to attack a wolf lair but the amount of troops is the same as before i sent the troops- ill wait a few sec or min but the amount will still be the same - wtf?
Good tutorial.
How did you record this, every time i try with fraps it crashes my game
And depending on your guardhouse capacity?
You get the design built?
Can someone tell me why its impossible to create an account???
Thank you, i plan on making more in the coming weeks. Any ideas for videos?
What exactly does the desperate defense card do?
directly repairs castle after first attack
thx for the vid fairly new to the game good info thx again

Warrior of light
how can i get more gold?

You need to place more guard houses.
:( it ses i have 0 army i dont know how to get the army :(
...and last 3 days. Thought I'd finish that for you.
There is really only one problem with this. The buildings that allow you to create oil pots are vulnerable to catapults and soldiers.
I use Bandicam.
good

Guys if the building isn't done you can delete it and still get the resources but once its build if you delete it you cant get the resources back
you still get a partial refund
I bought it?
windows xp still kicks as, its better then windows 8.
its ok, I named my guy nipslip. He's pretty boss
i love this game......reminds me of LoL
Lol yeah, one thing about building a new castle from scratch is the amount of time needed for it to build.
Enlighten me.

Who else hears this Game of Thrones soundtrack?
Because it is! :)
Ok, let me see. :)
...and if Wolves are showing up and you've got a nice well-behaved Snake or Pig Castle with no cats DON'T ATTACK IT!
Haven't you been reset a few times and even now STILL don't have a village?
Good luck in the future but if you are flyin, you have no right to judge anyone. :)
yep.
Why do you need so many barracks?
To put a lot of archers?
+Darren Tse the more barracks you have, the more defenders you can put inside the castle and atop the towers.
Weak castle design cause 2 or 3 full capital breakers and full 5 cap army on the back and the castle is done
Just send me a scouting report. or an AI defense
yo
