Fun fact! Each of the kids represent a different stage of grief going by their birth order. Steve is denial, Shirley is anger, Theo is bargaining, Luke is depression, and Nell is acceptance.
If that was the intent then Shirl, Theo Nell and Luke are incredibly poor depictions. Shirl is predominantly selfish and self centred, not angry. Theo is a far better fit for acceptance. She doesn't bargain for anything. Nell is clearly the most depressed and Luke, despite being the most emotionally abused and ignored by his family at every point of his childhood, as an adult is the most hopeful and proactive of the siblings. I haaaate jump scares too! And I still think "horror" is not my cup of tea, but in the last years I discovered that I kinda like it when there's a good story behind and the "horror codes" are just use to tell that good story (besides an amazing cinematography, editing and music). That's why I reaaaaally love Hill House (can't wait for you to watch ep. 6... is so: chef's kiss) and I also love movies like Hereditary, Midsommar, The Night House and The Invisible Man.
As someone who absolutely hates jump scares in horror (jump scares are cheap because it's just a physical reaction your body has to tension resulting in surprise, it's not actual horror), I really appreciate this show because they use them very sparingly. I would even go as far as to say that there are really only two specific typical jump scare instances in this whole series and I appreciate that. Jump scares are not scary, they are just annoying and induce anxiety for no reason. Real horror is that unsettling feeling you get that something is about to happen.
Oh my. Nat, this is possibly the best written, acted, and shot tv show I've ever seen. Can't wait until you see the single shot start of Ep.6. And, to boot, this show is killer scary. Far too much for you... lol Bravo.

I love that at the heart of any of his stories are the characters. The horror/supernatural elements just serve to deepen the characters rather than be the main focus of the plots. You're gonna love this!
I agree. There are very few modern directors that I will continuously watching whatever they put out no matter what.
He has my trust and hasn't let me down yet.
This is an amazing show. Scary, yes, and definitely some jump scares, but there's so much more going on. It's a beautiful story and while you may have a hard time getting through it, I think you will be happy you did.
Nat: " ... Im really not excited about this ..."
Me: " 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂"
Im sure you'll be fiiiiiiiine! 😊
Same here, friend ;D
ok so ive seen a lot of your videos, and just wanted to say. your face is super familiar and your voice is rly comforting. definitely my comfort yt channel XD
Yes!! Talk about timing. I just started this series today this morning! Am at episode 5 and its absolutely amazing :)
and it's gonna get even better!!
Oh episode 6 is a treat! Enjoy it and the rest of the season
Episodes 5 and 6 were my favourite, I absolutely love this entire series but I think it was best in the middle
Oh man. You are about to watch my favorite finale to a show since breaking bad.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED FOR A SERIES!!
please also do Bly Manor and Midnight Mass too!!
I’m so excited to see you react to and review this series. This has to be one of the best and scariest shows ever.
Such a great show. Liked that you included the scene with the bug coming out of Nell's mouth. I animated that shot. 😊
Omg I’m excited to see this, I think this may be my favorite show ever, and the more reacts I see around the more sure of it I am.
I really appreciate that this is a ghost story about all things that haunt us - literal ghosts, secrets, regrets, memories.
This show was instrumental in the start of my current relationship. lots of holding each-other after every jump scare.
Horror movies and chill, always works 😎
I'm so excited about this! love, love, love that you are watching this series, is really good you would see.
I love spooky stuff, and I've gotta say, this show scared the shit out of me! Good luck, Nat! 😅
This show is amazing! It's a masterclass in horror storytelling. It builds tension the way that a horror movie does, but over multiple episodes, sometimes with a delayed release. It creates a sense of dread and sorrow that is astounding, and the middle of the season changes EVERYTHING. No spoilers, but it rocked me. It's terribly entertaining to see someone else react the same way I did, Nat!
I just finished this show yesterday!! I had to watch it for my film course and now I have to write an analytical essay on it. What a coincidence haha, hope you enjoy
I love that when you were editing, you came back and talk to us !GREAT EDITING! Yes the show is so greatly made, the characters are awsome, the way you go and come back makes sens ! Love that you love it because , I watched this MANY times, many ghost hidden in there too ❤😂😊
Yes! One of my favorite shows! Ep. 6 maybe my favorite episode of anything ever. And the last one is amazing too! Definitely character driven and using horror to explore human behavior and interaction, as all good horror does! Hope you enjoy it too!
Episode 6 is the end all be all of incredible staging. I'm more excited for Nat's reaction to that than any of the scares!
Oh I love this series so much. I haven’t seen anyone else react to it! I’m so excited for this!
If you watch closely, in the background, there is a ghost in almost every scene of this show. Most noticeably in scenes taking place in Hill House. Not for any particular reason story wise, just a nice little added feature.
Oh wow, I love the way you grouped the episodes! I love seeing others' take on it, but appreciate not having to wait for the next episode when I bimge-watched it, myself. ☺ it really is a brilliant show!
It's very, very slow, but honestly some of the best acting I've ever seen for a series. The actors totally make this show.
Love this show. I watched it a second time just to look for all the ghosts in the background, and realized I had missed so many subtleties the first time. So glad you're doing this one!
After this, Bly Manor and Midnight Mass are a must! 🔥
GENUINELY STOKED FOR YOU TO SEE THIS ONE!! 10/10 it's not exactly what you expect but in the best way. Beautiful show
Oh this is just a killer follow up to the GOT reactions, 10/10 choice
Same actor too. Steven and Daario Nahaaris
@@yvardietvorst The superior Daario, for sure
@@Crinbo imo yeah
Been busy watching so many of you videos the past week, glad to join you at the start of a series.
Natalie, after the season, I suggest you take a look at videos about all the easter eggs in the episodes, it blew my mind ^^
Thank you for braving this show and giving us amazing content! This is one of my favorite series that I went into expecting horror (which delivered) but got so much more out of it. Enjoy 🤗
Lots of people start watching this series with wide open scared eyes like -->😱 but by show's end are more like -->😭.
Great show and I gotta say the cinematography for episode 6 "Two Storms" is incredible. So much of the episode is done without any cuts and is truly marvelous.
YES! So excited for this one I love this show!
I’m so happy you’re reviewing this. It’s such a great show and, yes, it is scary at times. It’s also very emotional and deals with mental illness. Season one is great!
"I haven't seen American Horror Story either."
Oh Nat, don't set yourself up like that; now you HAVE to watch American Horror Story!
Wowww!! Lol this made my day, bless the person who asked you to react to this show hahaha! ❤️
"I thought I was safe with Dad! I didn't like that!"
Best 'that's what she said' of all time.
YESSSS!!! Finally! Im so glad you’re watching this Natalie!
"Cute kittens, hopefully they are not murder kittens"
*remembers back*
Oh no
i love this show. i've watched it several times. beautifully shot, great character study, storytelling and scares. great reaction Natalie! ^_^ you're so funny when you think something spooky is coming!
“I DIDN’T LIKE THAT!” - The Haunting of Hill House in one sentence.
There’s one specific jump-scare later in the show and I am absolutely dying to watch your reaction - it scared the hell out of me! It’s not one of those lingering shots, either - it’s fabulous!
Well it was 3 in the morning when that particular jump scare appear to me. I had to close the episode immediately and went to sleep. This show creates amazing atmosphere.
@@Taymoorismail Yeah, it was about 1 am for me, home-alone sat in the pitch-black of my room. Laptop almost went flying! Then had to check over my shoulder…
it's been a while since i've seen Hill House. Which jumpscare are you referring to?
Omg you're going to love this! I do not like scaring things and it took me a long time to watch this but I finally did and I became obsessed! This is very much a character driven story. And I know you love characters
I am 100% sure you’ll really like The Haunting of Bly Manor.
It’s focused way more on the story than the scares. Yes there are scares, but it has a really beautiful story imo
i wish she did it. she woulda like it more than this
Your channel has become my favorite reaction channel and you watch all my favorite shows! I have so much to watch now thank you!
If you want to watch a movie you'll really enjoy that technically falls into the horror genre try 'The Addams Family'.
Oh I'm so happy you're watching this. It's not only a fantastic and creepy horror series but also one of the best shows in terms of cinematography and characters I've ever seen.
I’m so glad you’re watching this, it’s one of my favorite shows ever
So excited for you to watch this. I was crying by the end.
"The Bent-Leg Lady" is gonna be Natalie tripping over the chair she's tangled up in after a jump scare.
I'm not a horror fan at all, but I loved Haunting of Hill House.
Good start... This series is SCARY! It is the best horror I've seen since the 70's.
Please watch the series "DARK"!
best show ever
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who takes a headphone off when scared lol. So excited to watch you see the rest! New subscriber here!
Wow, i've seen a lot of reactions to this show and i've to say yours is the best i think i've seen. such a delight. i subbed
Real horror is that unsettling feeling you get that something is about to happen.
natalie i love your reactions and hill house is one of my favorite shows, i'm so excited for you to experience this series!!
Oh my. Nat, this is possibly the best written, acted, and shot tv show I've ever seen. Can't wait until you see the single shot start of Ep.6. And, to boot, this show is killer scary. Far too much for you... lol Bravo.
I just watched the full series so I can appreciate these reactions better. Tbh the show really surprised me! Really loved episode 6! Waiting for the part two! Have a nice and fun month Nat! Enjoy the ride! ;)
Love the editing of your videos. Hope you and Cameron have a happy and safe Halloween season!
I love this family. They’re broken in such relatable ways
I absolutely love this show. Masterpiece! I cried like a baby watching it. And I'm on my 3rd rerun
this is one of my favorite series of ALL time, i know youre gonna love it
The best advice to you Nat, as someone who doesn’t love horror, is to watch this series as not a horror series. I have never loved a show more than this (Bly Manor coming in a very very close second, and even Midnight Mass- Flanagan’s newest series- being incredible too) and honestly, the storyline outweighs the scariness for me. I hope you enjoy as much as I do! X
Personally I could not get past ep 3 or 4, the characters just felt so "Psychology Example #1" cardboard to me.
yes yes yes yes I can not believe.Thank you so much for reacting to this amazing series.I love it so much
I'm really happy you decided to do this show!
This is already my favorite reactions on your channel thank you for doing this!
"Are these horror kittens?" 😹😹😹
