I'm in love with this song. I am of Zambian descent, my father was born in Zambia and I was born in Zimbabwe to a Zimbabwean mother. My people had not seen each other since 1989, my kindred in Zambia had last seen my grandpa at his young brother's funeral in 1989. I got a chance to trace my roots back to Zambia last year, in June 2022. It was a wonderful experience and we played this song a lot. Whenever I play it I yearn for Zambia, I now feel a strong sense of belonging and I feel that I now have an identity having grown up in a land where you are constantly reminded that you are of foreign origin. Proudly Zambian!
