- Take a look at this unusual lens from Canon. Shooting high end virtual reality productions has become an easier feat with the introduction of the RF5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye Lens. Additionally, we had the chance to talk to Criston Anderson who heads the video production team at Petra Medical College, the virtual side of Petra Allied Health, in Springdale, Arkansas. Criston and his team are using this new VR setup as an immersive way for students to experience hands-on training segments.

Hello , Can you help detail me about Len dual Fisheye ,it can not shooting for Photo 360 degree Right?
can this lens be mounted to a Sony camera with some adapter?
Can you use this lens for other uses outside of vr?
Does it work with the BM 6k Pro or BM 6K Full using the EF RF adapter?
Unfortunately, no. It works on the Canon R5C, R5 and R6 Mark II with a recent firmware update.

Hello, I watched a lot of videos shot with this lens using Meta Quest 2 headset and the images are very unclear in general. Is this because Meta headset is limited? For example, unless the subject was really close to the lens, everything looks very unclear. Or, are my expectations to high when comes to VR ? Could a better VR headset help with the clarity of the videos shot with this lens ?
In order to manually set the focus of the Canon dual fisheye lenses I place a standard eye chart at a location corresponding to the distance of my subject from the camera; then I use the Canon Connect App to view the image of the eye chart on my large iPad Pro as I stand nearby the camera so that I'm able rotate the focus ring and look at the iPad Pro's big 12.9 inch screen at the same time. Since the letters of the eye chart appear much larger on such a big screen I can accurately turn the focus ring on the dual fisheye lens with high precision until the letters appear very sharp even from distances of 12 feet or more.
It sounds like something to film some basement kink videos. 😳 🤭 🤣
