I’m up to nearly 525 dramas completed and I am normally a binge watcher. However, I made an exception for this one - only the second show I have ever NOT binge watched. That said, having watched thru episode 9, I will now be taking a hiatus until all episodes are released and avoiding all reaction videos and other social media posts.

I have mentioned this in other forums, but this show is a game changer in many ways, not just for BLs, but for ALL genres. The writing, directing, acting, cinematography, music, the details, the emotions - everything is on a new level of excellence. Producers, beware, we will be expecting a whole lot more from you going forward.

On another note, I hope one day we can drop the BL/GL tags. This isn’t just a great BL drama … it’s a great DRAMA … period.

See you in 10 days :)

      525?! Well damn.
I was going to say I am not a binge watcher as I grew up in a time when we HAD to wait a week....then I realised I usually watch shows after they've aired (BL wise) 😂
Taking a break to prepare yourself for the last two episodes?
I would say (after going back and watching BLs from 5 years ago) things really have improved. A lot.
Would you say BLs/GLs and LGBTQ+ shows are in different categories? Transition these actors into more meaty, adults roles for LGBTQ+ and more light hearted for BLs/Gls?

Totally there with you...nothing short of PHENOMENAL for ALL dramas. How you can keep away is beyond me😮.

@@JustalowlyChannel you bring up two good points at the end of your post. And as Thailand gets ready to approve its same sex marriage equality law, maybe we’ll see some mature dramas from them with same sex marriages instead of partnership ceremonies :)
I keep a detailed spreadsheet of every drama I’ve watched going back about four years. My OCD kicking in. This will definitely be in my top ten all time drama list for sure. If anyone cares, my No. 1 all time favorite drama ever is, “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.”
I just finished the Korean historical drama “My Dearest,” which just won several awards at the Korean version of our American Emmy awards, including Best Picture, Actor, Actress, among others. I mention it because, tho they couldn’t be more different, there are a lot of parallels with “Last Twilight” as far as the quality of acting, writing, directing, music, cinematography and number of tissues needed. And yes, the last scene in the final episode, features the two main leads reuniting at … you guessed it … twilight :)

What I love most about this ep, is that Night and Day patch things up, fixing their relationship; Day forgives Night, and then even though I don’t agree with Mom, I’m still glad to see the 3 of them patch feelings up and making up for lost family time, finally!!!🥰😇💖really heartwarming especially seeing Night cry after Day forgives him and with Mom together having dinner😭🥺👏👌
But the ending, again, PAof’s series, every single ending scene will be a powerful one, either emotional damage to us or a big shock like always!!😅😅😅but honestly tho, I didn’t expect the eye donation would actually come through, many of us actually start to think that Day might just stay blind this way for the rest of the series, but wow, looks like we can’t be sure for that just yet🤔🤔🤔
However the thing gets me nervous is that we still have 2 more episodes left, something tells me that it’s not gonna be that easy and then just rainbow and sunshine for Day😬😳; I’m not so sure, but I feel like the eye donation may or may not work for Day? Otherwise it just seems too easy and so anticlimactic especially after the super strong ep 9 we had last week; it just seems too easy and too convenient after all that emotional buildup and then now suddenly Day gets the eye donation and next everything is fine??
Then the whole 9 episodes of emotional buildup just seem not that meaningful anymore?? Idk…(don’t get me wrong, ofc I want Day to be able to see, but purely from the writing perspective, it just seems odd that suddenly everything is fine now, a bit too convenient??) I don’t trust this😱😅, maybe they are like trying to give us some little hope and then next ep completely destroying our hope altogether!! They love to do that to us so I’m not putting my faith on the writing just yet!! Let’s see, stay tuned🫢🫣🧐

I think the title of this episode could be "The Aftermath of Mhok". It's a reminder that most of what we saw happen in Day's family is only happening because of Mhok's time with Day. Especially at the family Xmas dinner, where Day is the one who took charge and brought everyone together. He never would have done that "pre-Mhok". And Mark really shines here as Night. It's no wonder he is in so many different shows, because his acting abilities are amazing! You can actually sense the weight being lifted off Night's shoulders with Days simple "I forgive you ... for everything" statement. Seeing him taking on the role of PorJai's "baby daddy" here could quite possibly elevate him to "Mhok Status" when it comes to green flag characters! A lot of the intimate moments between Day and Mhok are due to the beautiful chemistry and friendship that Dr. Jimmy and Sea have in real life. It comes thru in their BTS and off cam videos here on TH-cam, and that's why it looks so natural on screen. I sometimes wonder if maybe Mom has issues separating work and family, as some of her behavior towards her sons is more "boss-like" than maternal. Coupled with the complicated family history, I can see why she doesn't always make the best decisions. But it was good to see her begin to learn from Day towards the end of the episode. As always, this series continues to give us exactly what we need when we need it. Coming of the epically emotional episode 9, it was so good to see some of the drama start to resolve a bit here. As for the eye donation for Day ... I have mixed emotions, like many other reactors I've watched. If it works, it would be so beautiful to have Day finally clearly see Mhok's face and how much Mhok loves him. But on the other hand, if the procedure fails, that would also ring true to the story. It shows that no matter what adversity is thrown our way, we can still overcome it and live a happy life, as we could see Day and Mhok move on despite Day being blind. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what P'Aof has in store for us. He is truly a genius, and this series is absolute proof! I hope it wins many awards! BTW, still loving your thoughtful commentary during the show! Keep up the great work!

perfect timing lee! my finals ended today & i go back to work tomorrow so im SAT and ready to hear your thoughts on this episode today.
i have lots of thoughts on this episode, especially on the mother. but ive already ranted about that way too much on my own time, so all i'll say here is that she's so self centered and she's ruining both of her sons' lives. her little attempt at making things "right" at the end means nothing when she wouldve left night out completely had day not interfered.
im quite happy with how night & day reconciled. mark did a great job with his acting as always.
love your commentary as always 🤍
edit after watching the first 30 mins of the reaction : what you mentioned about people who came from nothing acting classist and getting an inflated ego once they get enough money to live comfortably is very true. in fact there's a specific phrase to describe people like that in my native tongue, turkish. we say "sonradan görmüş" about people like this. it basically means someone who has achieved comfortable living and wealth later on in life, and it gets to their head.
also, i like how youre trying to empathise and understand the mother even though i cant do that myself. then again, thats probably my lack of family speaking lol.
and can i just say, i really appreciate what mhok did there. he risked *everything* just so day and his mother's relationship didnt crumble because of him.
when you dont have family like mhok and me, you want the people you care about to hold onto theirs while they still can.
his struggles with finding a job and feeling like your pride is getting stepped on in the process are very real. he has nothing and no one to fall back onto if things dont go his way. outside of day, he only has porjai.
and with his criminal history, i can definitely understand how rough it must be. hell, people even look at me differently when people at my workplaces ask if i have family and i tell them i was an orphanage kid.
its so easy to find a reason to look down on people or to dismiss them, if you really want to look for those reasons.
the real world is fucking tough, and i think this show does a great job of conveying that.

It’s hard to make comments about each of these episodes because there is so much going on, so nuanced and so thoughtfully done, you don’t know what exactly to say and where to start….sign😂 of a great drama. I get a kick out of how sometimes you are almost in P’Aof’s mind as to your comments of what you want to happen and then it does. Personally, I don’t think it really matters if he gets his sight back or not because I have full confidence in P’Aof either way. A lot of people feel he shouldn’t because it’s a great way of showing the lessons he’s learned being sight-impaired. But, even if his sight does come back, it doesn’t mean that those lessons have gone to waste. It’s still a part of his development as a person.

6:47 Funny how you say that, I cried on episode 1 when Mhok heard his sister died :') Broke me when I saw him and Phojai crying (my biggest weakness is seeing people crying)

The mom, I tried, I really really tried to understand her, and I really do understand where she’s coming from, but still, I don’t agree with her, I’m sorry I just can’t! Let’s see after this ep, if there’s gonna be debates towards the mom’s reactions and her way of action towards Day🤔, I suspect there will be quite divided opinions🧐
(the way she did things regarding Day, it’s no different from “house confining” Day😳, especially confiscating Day’s phone and not allowed him to even call Mhok! Excuse me!! Day is an adult, yes or not apparently?? That’s just a big no no for me!! Ok, mom, I’m sorry, even though I do understand you, I don’t agree with your behaviour at all!)
Ps: I want to mention that I love all the painting lesson scenes using senses to feel and learn; the blindfolded dancing before painting💖😎pop up books etc…really dive in towards the life of the community👏; lastly at the hospital, Night sent his OB/GYN doctor friend to take care of Porjai and he claims that she’s carrying his child even though he knows it’s not his🥹😊😇omggg!! Night!🫶🫶🫶so much love and respect for him!!👍👍

Idc what other people say. The mother is just being selfish af. There’s no reason at all to do all those things she did and act the way she did. Her concern for day as a mother cannot justify her actions omg. And her blaming night just because irritated me.

    • @JustalowlyChannel
      @JustalowlyChannel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

She definitely at times is being selfish.
I felt sad for Night when we saw the family photo and she is hugging Day, and her body is away from Night and a space is between them.
I am happy we get a form of resolution with the family dynamics. To a point.
I know, I know it is entertainment, but some times rose tinted glasses are used to wrap things up when we know these issues would last longer. Kind of would like to see this element last longer before a resolution.
