Nope it doesn't on the first one it only does if you don't have open slots on the board. Meaning if you have the sub doing 44 random gems u can have 5 other special gems and it won't over write them. If you have 6 has a chance to cover them

Does uso cap works as remaining submission gems turn into silence gems and it gives 150%green gem damage for 3 turns
No plates don't work on subs unless specially stated works on sub with the exception of boss battle
