    First of all thanks so much for this series!!!
    I'm going through them one by one. I had quite a bit of trouble on this one as my wlan0 kept coming back not connected. After looking for hours I finally got to :
    sudo nano /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
    When I got there I found the SSID and the Password I had entered in the raspi-config, just one thing; the password for my network was only 8 digits long. The last numbers were cut off for some reason. Put in the complete password and everything works great now. So if anyone is having trouble, check that out.
    Great series by the way. Very clear and best step by step presentation I have found on TH-cam. Thanks.

    I have an issue where the PI is swapping the LAN IP address to what I typed for the WiFi… why is that happening?

  • @RobertRoman
    @RobertRoman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was able to edit the file exactly as demonstrated. For some reason when I type ifconfig to check the ip address after reboot, it's not the static ip address i wrote in the file. It still shows old ip address.

      I have spent a week trying to debug code. I had typed a “:” instead of a “;” and felt real dumb

    I did this but now the raspberry pi itself don't have internet access. When I try to update the packages or install new packages, I have error because there's no internet access, only the wifi connection with raspberry pi.

    Why in my kali pi doesnt have dhcpcd.conf?

    • @SpaceRexWill

      Kali linux is a different distribution of linux than Rasbian is. When you are just getting started I would recommend learning with Rasbian as there is tons of information out there on how to get started.

      Things have changed. You can now set up static IPs by going to /etc/network/interfaces.d and creating an eth0 or wlan0 file and updating things there. Other videos share how to do this.
