- In this video I install the FMS high speed motor upgrade in our FCX24 max smasher monster truck! This is such a great upgrade: easy install, inexpensive, and extremely fast! In the video we do speed runs against other fcx24’s as well as bashers!

Just received my heat sink. Motors should be here any day. FMS said they have warehouse in Canada USA and China. My heat sink came from NJ. Really looking forward to some speed runs. Great video really miss the days of having my son around. They grow up to quick.

I have a couple little ones and this thing really is perfect to get them into the hobby. The first gear is slow enough they are leaning to drive

It was fun to see you all bashing around on a carpet track! I think the injora monster truck tires would really help with cornering... Those stock tires dont have foams, and are very squishy!!
I've been on the fence about the stock motor upgrade, but I think I would really enjoy the low gear setting on the high speed motor. I'm probably going to have to pick that up soon...

Yeah awesome surprise, just got my speed motor yesterday I have the white and the blue one on the way the blue one I did get with the speed motor heat shield and transmission still gears
I got a pair of these for my twins. They love them. We broke a link first day in one of them which was weird. But my buddy 3d printed some links and they have been good since then.

Yeah I did the same thing, I have extra shifting servo and steering servo extra gears I got a complete transmission and motor I have Treal aluminum Axle housing collecting for my power wagon

Ok so I just got my white one today and both blue and white have HS motor.
But the white one is significantly louder like transmission maybe had it apart not any grease would you grease these and what do you use?
He was psyched! As was I 🤣 I did not grease them.

That thing looks like a blast , did you find out what that noise was ? Its probably ripping its gears apart now that you added motor !

I haven’t tried it personally but it looks good. It’s got a nice angle skid which should help a lot with the gladiator and the long wheelbase

That thing runs awesome, sounds like she stripped a gear or something?! Someone needs to come up with a replacement spur gear with a slipper clutch integrated into it to soak up the inevitable punishment these little beasts are going to be dealt!
It is super fun. I looked at it more closely today and it sounds like something stripped in the rear end

Where can I get 1/24 Bigfoot and USA1 decals???
I like the Ford body, but overall I am not a big Monstertruck fan. I would actually want to see someone modify one of these trucks to look like an old trophy truck (Kyosho Rampage style). I am actually missing 1/24 scale trophy trucks and no one seems to make them. Of course, crawler suspension is a different setup than trophy truck suspension, but just the look would be sufficient. Lowered, smaller wheels, no front bumper etc.
That’s a really interesting idea. With the high speed motor this would be a beast of a mini trophy truck!
Did you figure out what was making the clicking noise? Seems unlikely that dirt would get in somewhere. Probably a chipped tooth somewhere. BTW... You can the body mounts separate from the body. They are included when you get the bumpers.
I think you’re right and that it’s a gear issue. I haven’t dug into it yet. We broke mounting posts clean off the body just recently. I tried to super glue it back on so we’ll see how that holds up!

Just gotmine installed, it judders alot when try and go, unless im super gentle on throttle, am i doing something wrong. On 3s 35c 450mah
It’s pretty high strung. It probably just wants to rip! I’ve only ever run ours on 2s and they don’t like slow speed

Can’t leave a review on FairRC website. Not surprising given recent issues with the company.
I’ve purchased over 17 Rochobby/easy RC/ FMS products. Most have been excellent. Purchased 3 of the Fcx24 . At first it was so great. Then one started acting crazy. Then driveshafts popped out. And another won’t go in reverse.
Purchased a max smasher. Won’t shift into second or go in reverse.
Customer service and quality control has taken a major turn for the worse. After many many emails they sent me a FedEx label for the max smasher. Nothing for the FCX24. Dropped it off at FedEx. FairRC say they didn’t receive and tracking isn’t updating. Took 4 days of asking them if they received to even get a response. FedEx asked why I didn’t come to them earlier and they don’t see it there.
So I’m out of luck. And already purchased about $100 in options for it.
These are so tempting - but I’m done with this company.

@@CapeCrawlers I had my speed motor and heat sink and metal gear and all that ready to go. My kiddos were almost as excited as me. Ha.
Now I don’t even have a broken one that I can replace stuff myself on. Gave them weeks before posting stuff.
Hate to say it, but I’m anticipating a down hill slope for this company if they handle things in that manner. RC community is pretty small 🤷🏼♂️

did you not to the gears upgrade which is necessary for the faster motor?
I ended up doing metal gears throughout later on because we stripped the plastic transmission gears pretty quickly.
Did you have any fit issues with the metal gears? Some people had to grind some of them to fit correctly.
@@Raada77 not even put mine in yet as heard too many stories that they don’t work or something messes up. So kinda putting it off really
Any grease in there? Should some be added?
There is some grease in there from the factory. With plastic gears I don't usually grease them, just put a dab on the metal pinon. When I changed them over to metal I greased them pretty heavy.
What was the grinding sound?
Something stripped in the rear end I believe. I haven’t taken it apart to look, but that’s definitely where the noise is coming from.
Is someone going to tell FMS/FCX that the USA-1 monster truck was a Chevy .

The high speed motor is excellent. Just to clarify, Mofo actually stands for “motor forward” not what initially comes to mind 🤣

What motor is that?
It’s the high speed motor from FMS. It’s a 130 brushed just like the stock one, but so much faster!
People like me see a video title like this and they think, oh cool a tutorial video. then we watch it, and you fast forward through the actual work, and it makes the video absolute garbage, because it's not worth f****** watching.
And then there’s the people who think the installs are boring and ask for them to be sped up. Can’t win them all I suppose.
