My name is Alice Barile based in the USA visual Artist. I am a nature inspired and I create my art with love and passion absolutely intuitively. I love the Abstract, for me the abstract is a design language and it’s completely open to interpretation. Thank you for joining me and let's paint together !

At my interview for Art school many many years ago, the tutor commented that a chimpanzee could be taught to draw. The gift the artist brings is knowing where to put the mark. Joseph Albers series Homage to the Square perhaps exemplifies this perfectly. Move a square a fraction one way or another, use different colours or hues and the effect is unbalanced. But the best abstract paintings ive seen were created by artists who were already skilled technically in drawing and painting. They abstracted what was for them the essence of what they were looking at.
One of my favourite artists is Mondrian and his teaching on creating an abstraction from a leafless tree was stunning. 1. Start with an exquisite drawing of the tree. (Im rubbish at trees). 2. Abstract the main attributes so you have a tree like image....
Finally complete abstraction created by strong geometric shapes. Though I know his work is not to everyone's taste.

Sometimes my paintings idea come as I start painting I just go with a flow. But most of the time I plan them before I fall asleep. I just imagine 🙌🏻

Did you mix your Raw Sienna with black because that color is way too dark to be just raw sienna from the tube.

Black gives less transparency to Raw Sienna and I like nice shadow as well. If it’s just a Black Acrylic it’s too dark. But together they are perfect 👍

This is just amazing, Alice. Thanks for sharing. Did you wet the sponge before you applied the red paint to the canvas? Or did the "bubble"-like structur appear because you used a good amount of paint? Do you know what I mean? 🙂

Thank you very much 🌺🙏❤️ I did not wet the sponge. 🧽 Normally I only use dry sponges.

@alicebarileart Thank you for your quick reply, Alice. By bubbles I meant the little foam bubbles you get with dish liquid. The texture of your red paint reminded me of that. I think I once tried to apply the paint with a wet sponge and that gave me that particular texture.
