This was basketball’s greatest era in my opinion. You don’t see much like this in the NBA anymore... people like Bird, Johnson, Jordan, all playing as stars yet teammates... ah the golden age
CJ 4rrow idk. This era is pretty damn good.. Lebron, KD, Harden, Greek Greek, Splash bro’s, Kawhi. But i still would take the 80’s and 90’s as the golden era
When young people say Bird is too slow to play in today's game, this video is all you need to show them. His jumper made you have to step out and play him and he could "walk" by you easily with a simple pump fake. In today's game, Bird would average 30 easily
i remember watching this afternoon game on a weekend - immediately afterwards i went to the court and reenacted that 3 on Drexler. that was a great Portland team too but on that afternoon not enough for vintage Legend.
Bird’s last healthy season was ‘87-‘88. Back and foot problems, general aging - he did not take care of himself like modern players of today do. But he still could shoot, had court vision that only a select few have ever had (Magic, Stockton, Jason Kidd, a few others...), and was still a good rebounder.
Interesting lineup, Dee Brown, Rick Fox, Reggie Lewis, John Bagley. Bird like Jack Nicklaus in '86. Still better than anyone when his back was not spazzing out and he got it rolling.
He was physically broken his last 2 years and Boston was still the #2 seed in 91 and the #3 in 92! And almost made the conference finals both years miraculously!
Larry Bird is one of the most underrated superstar of all time. He's the complete package. He was also one of the toughest players. He'd average 40 points in this era. He would also average a triple double in points, assists and rebounds if he played today.
@coffeeinthemorning Yes I agree. But they're are a lot of people now who rate Le Bron so much now, they forget players like Bird. The true Iron Man of the NBA. I say Iron Man for Bird's toughness. Le Bron wouldn't survive in Bird's Era. In my opinion Bird is a better all round player than Le Bron, especially his passing and Clutch performances.
Watching this game again and it's painful and entertaining. I know that my heroes are aging (Bird/McHale/Parish) but they can demolish and destroy. You can see Bird is battling back problems and the next picture was year 2008.

I remember watching this game in my teens, miss those days.
it's crazy how good bird actually is with his left hand.
Rick fox be takin 5 steps before dunking the deep touchdown throw by Bird at the end of second OT
I got swept twice by this man
+super gilly He still got swept twice lol 3 games or not
+super gilly it actually is because if Michael is so great, then why is he the 8th seed? 😂
@@LakersFanSinceJulyst
LeBron James missed playoffs in career thats worst than Michael Jordan being 8th seed
+1-9 is an autistic bronsexual
+Martin Smith He still had a better record than Mike, he would’ve made he playoffs in that top heavy conference. Mike made the playoff at 34 wins 😂 L
6:00 lol the disrespect
When Willis reed took over the nets I believe , he had all the players watch a copy of this game and said that this is the way to play basketball.
LARRY LEGEND! LeBron,Dr.J,Elgin Baylor,KD,Pippen,King,Dominique, but Larry is my sf of choice.
When young people say Bird is too slow to play in today's game, this video is all you need to show them. His jumper made you have to step out and play him and he could "walk" by you easily with a simple pump fake. In today's game, Bird would average 30 easily
I watch this game when I was 12
Marv Albert's voice still sounds majestic back then :O
This is why these athletes could play in any era
i remember watching this afternoon game on a weekend - immediately afterwards i went to the court and reenacted that 3 on Drexler. that was a great Portland team too but on that afternoon not enough for vintage Legend.
Wow, what a classic game
He just literally does not touch the rim and it’s incredible to watch
He was physically broken his last 2 years and Boston was still the #2 seed in 91 and the #3 in 92! And almost made the conference finals both years miraculously!
The GREATEST SF OF ALL TIME
Larry Bird is one of the most underrated superstar of all time.
@coffeeinthemorning Colour of the skin has nothing to do with my assessment.
Larry legend the smartest and clutch player ever
Larry had a pair of brass ones, for sure! Pure guts.
Thanks! Just saw this.
people You could NOT possibly realise just how GOOD THEGAME WAS THEN =Super Stars Everywhere' Larry was Thee BesT .
He put a three pointer while walking..pure Bird.
Someone should upload the entire game. It was incredible. Bird vs Clyde The Glide.
bournesupreme Classy Boston fans gave Clyde a standing Ovation
This is Larry Bird in his final season with a f**ked up back. 49 point triple double and hits a ridiculous 3 to send the game to OT.
*LARRY LEGEND*
tbh this is who durant reminds me of. watch how they score. bird posts more but the jumpers are cash money
I dropped 63 and still couldn’t beat this team but apparently I’m the goat
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao with that logic, then LBJ shouldn’t be the goat either.....51 points but still couldn’t beat the warriors but apparently he is the goat
super gilly True, true man, but this dude is just irritating and should get fact checked
Why is your name 1-9?
2'42" That floater from another galaxy! :)
I remember watching this game on NBC
LOL I wasn't even born when Larry Legend did this...
Watched it live!!
Damn this is pure talent, not even he’s durable in this part of his career
Bird was the 🐐
I remember watching this game after church ⛪️
Watching this game again and it's painful and entertaining. I know that my heroes are aging (Bird/McHale/Parish) but they can demolish and destroy. You can see Bird is battling back problems and the next picture was year 2008.
G.O.A.T
What a game 👌☝️💪❤
