Thanks for showing this. This is my Dad’s layout. It was fun to view it from the point of the engine!! I didn’t get to drive his engines until after I had the first grandkid!! Of course, I never thought to ask to either!

What a ride on SP&S #2! I had never heard of this layout until now. As a high schooler (WV '64) and younger living in Dishman I rode with my dad when he was working the Hillyard - Pasco engineer's freight pool and the Scribner Turn. After I went to work for the SP&S I fired for him on SP&S #2 and #1 on the 3rd Sub. On the night of April 30, 1971, he ran #1, the very last initial terminal departure of an SP&S route BN passenger train, the timetable authority of which was annulled by orders at Ft. Wright due to it becoming an Extra West at Ft. Wright because of Amtrak's takeover (that ended all SP&S route service) before its scheduled arrival at Pasco. I'm pretty sure that wesolint's dad fired for my dad also, at least on the freight pool.

Sweet! Makes me wish I had a basement big enough to do justice to the 3rd sub. I got to ride it more than once in the 60's with my dad who was an SP&S hoghead. Thanks for sharing!
