Awaken is one of the most magical albums ever made. The fact that John left shortly after added to its mystique. I loved No Exit too and Ray is awesome but there was just something otherworldly about this album that took me to another planet. Arch’s vocals and inimitable sense of melody were just sublime and he kind of became this mythical figure. Seeing this performance after all these years brings an enormous smile to my face. I can’t believe how great Arch sounds...absolutely incredible. Steve Zimmerman knocked it out of the park too...great to see him handle the material pretty much note for note like it was yesterday. The whole band played their asses off. Pure magic.
I couldn't agree more . I'm a singer of almost 40 years started in 6th grade after hearing Halford on Unleashed in the East . Something clicked and had to do it . I can do Tate , Halford , Anderson , Walsh almost to the t . But Arch I can get thru about 2 songs then I start feeling it . He actually was contacted by my band before I became lead singer of Crucible . He used to live at the time about 10 minutes from our area . I've always said this album has the most demanding vocals out of any album of this genre and most albums period . I'm surprised watching him I thought he used head voice more but It looks like he's pushing on most of it . Arch love you man . Inspired the shit out of me . Amazing artist and them vocal melodies Holy Shit ! This album will never leave my rotation . NEVER!
By far the best live vocals I've ever heard from a metal vocalist. Like, maybe better than the album, and he's 30 years older. What the hell is this sorcery?

Holy shit! Arch sounds amazing. The whole band does. I feel like I’m 16 again. My best friend in HS and I had a friendly competition between us who could find the coolest new band. He came up with Fates Warning: Awaken The Guardian.
This is absolutely AMAZING! I wish I could possibly put in to words how much this album means to me, but I cant. Seeing this after all these years is truly priceless! They sound amazing. Arch is an absolute GOD. Fates was never the same after he left. This album is uniquely magical. No one has ever done anything else like it.
