Good job guys. All the arm chair critics can keep the unconstructive comments to themselves. You've had an idea and are putting it to the test, great to see.
keen to see how this works out in the medium to long term. are you able to add some info in the description pls? Maybe some product links? 3 years ago, I installed an under bonnet lithium in my 80 series to run my fridge (against all the internet advice) and haven't had any trouble yet. This looks like a good idea to keep the lithium charged when I'm not driving for several days. Agree with not using roof real estate for a solar panel! yep, i'm subscribed now.
Pure genius, solar output degrades significantly with heat. The hottest part of the car with no ventilation under the panel? What a waste of time and money. Maybe a reason you don’t see vehicles utilising that piece of realestate. Good luck
Hi michael, I've had it on the hood for a couple of months now, and it's working better than you might think. If you are interested, I'll be posting an update video in a couple of weeks.
What type and capacity is your battery, and what amperage is your solar controller? My guess is that your solar setup is changing your your battery to high, and cooking it.
