When he put that kilt on and walked outside that had my inner Scotsman screaming with pride.

I wish Murtagh could have seen this, he would be so proud!

Fergus has been waiting his whole life to officially swear his oath of fealty to Milord, his father Jamie, a day he thought would never come after losing his hand and thus becoming seen by most as unfit to be considered a viable warrior to fight.

They should speak in Gaelic a bit more

Jamie does speak some with his grandkids, but no one else in their immediate family really speaks it fluently other than Roger as it was outlawed after the Rising and they were all so young or weren’t born yet. Claire understands quite a bit but was only really around it for a few years 20 years ago and never really spoke it herself anyway so she and Jamie speak English to each other. Also they are in America, not Scotland, and they are really pushing that.

The cross lighting thing was a little disconcerting, knowing what it will be turned into in another hundred years or so.

The Scotish people and Native Americans are not that different

Dear Sofia, The Highlanders and Lowlanders of Scotland are 2 entirely different people's (2 people's in reality), i am descended from both, but there is much in common with the Highlanders and the Native Americans. They had similar values of tribal loyalty to their clan and were ultra violent to defend their land. The irony is that the Scots Highlanders turned into the thing they despised most by conquering other similar people whose culture was being destroyed. They became the people whose values they hated the most.
